Wrapping up another year at Salesforce - and this one meant a lot. On paper, it was a strong year (232% to goal and honored to be part of Peak Performers Club). But the numbers only tell a small part of the story. I took over this territory several years ago, and it was far from a “plug and play” situation. It was a post-COVID environment with Account Director turnover and a hiring freeze. For a while, it was about rebuilding - establishing consistency, earning trust, and laying the groundwork. A lot of what came together this year was shaped over multiple years of effort, not just one. A few lessons that stuck with me: Success Takes Time Early on, a lot of time was spent listening, meeting customers without an agenda, working to understand what actually mattered to them after a few turbulent years. Some of those conversations didn’t turn into anything right away. But over time, trust compounds. And eventually, those same relationships turned into real opportunities. Nothing meaningful happens overnight. Standard Over Outcome Sales is measured by outcomes, but outcomes aren’t fully in our control. What we can control is our standard - how we show up every day, how we prepare, and how we execute. When we stay disciplined in the process... planning, preparation, and execution, the outcomes tend to follow. One Team, One Mission Some of the biggest moments this year came from true team selling - late nights, pulling in the right people at the right time, and leaning into each other’s strengths. No silos, no ego...just a shared focus on doing what was right for the customer. Relentless Solution Focus (R.S.F.) Not every deal goes smoothly... far from it. When things go wrong, don't waste your time complaining about the problem, focus on solutions. When our team hit obstacles, we relentlessly asked ourselves, “what’s one thing we can do to improve this situation?” - and kept asking until we found a way forward. Be Quick, But Don’t Hurry In a few key moments, slowing down made the difference - taking the extra time to think through a strategy or align stakeholders instead of rushing. Urgency matters, but so does getting it right. Run Your Own Race Sales makes it easy to compare - rankings, dashboards, constant visibility into performance. But don’t waste your time comparing yourself to others - you’ll just drive yourself crazy. Everyone’s journey is different. Staying focused on serving customers and maintaining a high standard is what drives both results and fulfillment over time. One of the biggest risks in enterprise sales isn’t competition. It’s internal misalignment. Over the years, leading complex, global accounts, I’ve learned that even the strongest teams drift without a shared blueprint. Different priorities. Different interpretations of success.
