Joe Maule, CFA shared thisI’ve been building toward this role for a while. Last week, I was promoted to Director of Strategic Finance at Nutrisense. The last two years in a fast-paced startup accelerated my learning, from classic FP&A into more strategic, cross-functional work. I’ve had the chance to: - Rebuild our financial model around updated business drivers - Dive deep on unit economics and the levers that matter most - Sharpen how we tell the company’s story with clear data and metrics - Partner with leaders across the business on planning, tradeoffs, and prioritization - Jump into the kind of “wear a lot of hats” projects you only get in a startup Biggest lesson: great analysis only matters if you can communicate it clearly. It feels like a lifetime ago that my good friend and former colleague, Jenna Drapkin, reached out about a "cool new company" that had just acquired hers. That conversation sparked a massive chapter of my career centered on growth, disruption, and the power of real-world learning. During my time here, I’ve had the privilege of watching the company evolve and navigate the current AI era while serving in a variety of roles that challenged me to stay adaptable. I owe a great deal to Maxwell Wessel, who truly elevated my career. I’m so grateful for the high-level responsibility and exposure you provided, and for giving me the creative space to thrive as Chief of Staff. That foundation proved invaluable as I stepped into my role as VP of Operations, and I’m incredibly grateful for Sandeep's steady leadership and guidance. I also want to thank David Blake for the vision and for creating a space where this experience was possible. Beyond the work itself, it’s the people who made the difference. Special shout outs to Nicole, Rhett, Tara, and Tiffany—you have been incredible supporters and made the work better every single day. I’m walking away with an immense amount of pride in what we’ve built and a skill set sharpened by some of the best in the business. I’m excited for what’s ahead, but I want to take this moment to truly honor the work and the people that made this chapter so meaningful.
