I was fortunate to have the opportunity to co-lead our fourth consecutive event with American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - National Capital Area Chapter. We spent a powerful and moving day training volunteers on the risk factors, warning signs, and approaches to engaging with someone who may be at risk of suicide. I am grateful for the participation of AFSP NCAC Executive Director Ellen Shannon and board member and Talk Saves Lives program lead Carolyn Mooney. Huge thank you to Brittany Goodman for help making the event a success and all of the Deloitte Government & Public Services who showed up for the event. #ImpactDay2026

Jeff Sexton liked thisJeff Sexton liked thisPersonal update: After 12+ years at Deloitte, I've joined Thoriva as a Director. Deloitte was the place where I grew up professionally — from Consultant to Senior Manager, from sitting quietly in the back of the room to running it. I spent those years working alongside some of the sharpest people I've ever met, on some of the hardest problems in large-scale modernization and platform delivery — inside mission-critical, highly regulated environments. I'm grateful for every bit of it. What pulled me to Thoriva is what I think is the actually hard part of this moment in AI: not the demos or the strategy decks, but the operational work of bringing intelligent, agentic systems into mission-critical government environments — without ever taking your eye off the delivery commitments those environments are built on. That's the work I've spent my career on — translating complex architecture into operational excellence — and Thoriva is purpose-built for it. There's a nice symmetry to the timing, too. One of my first programs here has me partnering with my former Deloitte colleagues on the other side of the table, and it's been genuinely rewarding to bridge those two chapters in real time. I’m leaving with a heart full of gratitude for the support, encouragement and mentorship I’ve received throughout my career. There are too many to list, but just a few who have been with me for a big part of my journey. Jeff Sexton liked thisJeff Sexton liked thisTomorrow marks one month for me at IBM as an Associate Partner in its Application Operations service line. 2025 was a wild ride with significant changes for everyone in my network. I personally wrapped up 11 years (11 years + 3 business days to be exact) at Deloitte. I am extremely grateful for the many who mentored, helped, and worked with me over the last decade or so who made me successful and shaped my career as I moved from Consultant to Senior Manager. Even though it's only been a month, I've met some pretty impressive people at IBM and have learned about AI-powered solutions IBM implemented on itself to achieve outcomes and billions in savings, proven solutions it now delivers for clients. That's something I look forward to being a part of. I'm excited for 2026 and wish you all the best in the new year. Happy New Year! PS: I did not use any AI to write this :)
