Ambiance and vibe were off the charts. Service was top notch. Food was solid (tbh I always have a hard time justifying the steak prices at places like this). Definitely worth checking out.

Jeffrey Eisenstein liked thisJeffrey Eisenstein liked thisThere were many different phrases I would hear overtime during these last four years but there are two in particular that stand out. “You got it or you don’t got it “ and “You sink or you swim“. As I went through my first year,all I wanted was to make money and tons of it. I couldn’t wait to try and be like all the other successful sales reps you would hear about within the company. I felt like I was ready but patience was key. Then things started to fall in place. Year two was hitting those phones like there was no tomorrow , hours and hours of talk time. Sourcing accounts hoping you land one. The most overwhelming time in my life. I was just trying to figure out when was all this going to make sense. Eventually My goals started to become a reality. I was moving at a fast pace. I was hungry, I gave it all I could. This wasn’t only a job but this was something I really enjoyed doing. In 2019, I was able to finish top 20 out of about roughly 400 reps. I couldn’t have done it without the constant advice and mentorship Jeffrey Eisenstein , Alexander Nienberg, & Casey Cummings. Also Thank you Echo Global Logistics for providing me with the tools needed to be successful within the company. #firstsuccessstory #top20 #hardwork

Most logistics teams don’t lose money because they picked the “wrong” carrier. They lose it because they never change how they pick carriers. In LTL, no one teaches shippers how to think about carrier selection. In FTL, most teams don’t track when things go sideways with their providers. So the default becomes: stick with the incumbent, ignore the pattern, and hope the next load goes better. And when someone does suggest a new provider, new process, or new tech, it goes into the graveyard of: “Under review.” “Let’s get one more quote.” “Let’s run this by legal / procurement.” “Waiting on one more signature.” Not because a manager made a bad call, but because no one chose to try something new. The side effects show up everywhere. Exceptions get treated as “just the cost of doing business.” Chronic issues with lanes, terminals, or providers never get fixed. Good ideas die in email threads and conference calls. Innovation stalls because sticking your neck out doesn’t feel worth it. Indecision isn’t neutral, it just isn't a "loud" cost It's a quiet shift that becomes recurring small issues that tally up. Rebills, service failures, and delays start to compound. Your best people get numb and eventually stop pushing for better, or they blow up one day, pushing their favorite provider to do better. Strong leaders don’t recklessly churn providers. But they do create clarity around when a pattern of failures is enough to trigger change, who actually has the authority to test a new solution, and how fast the team moves from “this isn’t working” to “we’re trying something else instead.” In logistics, status quo is a decision. The question is whether it’s the one you’d make on purpose.

FreightWaves published an article pointing to some green shoots in truckload spot rates (https://lnkd.in/gkvjppgE). While I know carriers are anxiously awaiting the market to turn, there are a few reasons I'd hold off getting too excited just yet. One chart below. Thoughts: •The chart shows DAT Freight & Analytics dry van spot linehaul rate (note, this is my estimate based off using a regression of historical surcharge data against the EIA's diesel price). October is coming in ~$0.07 a mile above September, to $1.68. This is good news. However, for historical perspective, it's just way too early to call a market change coming soon. •One confounding factor: Prime Day is/was October 7 and October 8. Target and Walmart have also been running large sales. This could be having some impact on rates (knowing the loads are very time sensitive). •Looking ahead, there are multiple demand headwinds including: [1]: Manufacturers' new orders falling into contraction territory in September per Institute for Supply Management and various Federal Reserve Board bank surveys. [2]: Single-family housing permits falling sharply since March, and down 11% year-over-year as of August (https://lnkd.in/gcEhP-q2). Permits are a strong predictor of future starts. [3]: Weak oil & gas activity. Implication: the underlying economic fundamentals do not point to the type of sustained freight demand growth that is needed to support a bull market pricing cycle (and certainly nothing like we saw in 2017-2018). #supplychain #freight #trucking #truckload #logistics #transportation
