Jeff Platt liked thisJeff Platt liked thisI am honored and excited to share that I have joined BrightStar Care as its next CEO. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of serving the franchise industry by building brands and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs nationwide. BrightStar Care presents a unique opportunity to do all of those things while also making a meaningful difference in people's lives every single day. What makes BrightStar Care special is that our work happens where life happens. Families invite us into their homes and trust us during some of life's most important and often most difficult moments. Whether it's helping a loved one age with dignity, recover from illness or receive the skilled care they need, this responsibility is both humbling and inspiring. As I begin this journey, I am excited to work alongside the people who make this organization what it is: our Franchise Support Center team, our franchisees and the families who place their trust in us every day. My commitment is simple: to serve each of you wholeheartedly, to listen, to learn and to work alongside you as we build on the strong foundation already in place. I want to thank the BrightStar Care Board for the confidence they have placed in me. I am grateful for the opportunity and excited to build on the momentum already underway. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to Andrew Ray for his leadership and service to the business and our franchise network. Andy has built a remarkable legacy, and I have greatly appreciated the warmth, professionalism, and generosity he has shown in welcoming me. Thank you, Andy, for your partnership and support throughout this transition. There are some pretty big shoes to fill, and I approach this opportunity with deep humility, tremendous excitement and a healthy respect for the responsibility ahead. I can't wait to meet more of our franchise owners, caregivers, nurses, and Franchise Support Center team members in the weeks ahead. I'm excited to listen, learn, and get to work alongside all of you. Let's get after it! #BrightStarCare #Leadership #Franchising #FranchiseOpportunities #Healthcare #HomeCare #ServingOthers #Growth #Team

Jeff Platt liked thisFranchising is a strong economic engine that many do not know exists. I wish I was exposed to it in business school as I am confident I would have began this journey much sooner. My path from corporate employee, to starting my own business, to a franchisee, then supplier and now as franchisor (and still a franchisee) had many inflection points and made me who I am today. Whether you’re in school, young or old in your career, I am confident there is time and a franchise for YOU. Whether that means working for a franchisee or franchisor, being a supplier or becoming a franchisee. From services, schools, to restaurants, retail, even entertainment and so much more. Varying skills, passions and investments are required. The article below talks about wealth which sometimes is a by product of taking calculated risk, building a team for a common purpose, following a proven system and ultimately anticipating customers wants and needs....however the return in my opinion is measured best by flexibility, matching invested time with personal passion, and being able to provide opportunities for others including giving back. Thank you Jeff Platt for granting me my first territory to develop and allowing me to become a multi unit franchisee that began my franchise journey.Jeff Platt liked this🇺🇸 The Economist just ran a piece on franchising, and it said something IFA has been saying for years: Franchising is the purest distillation of the American Dream. 🏦 850,000 businesses. 9 million jobs. Nearly 3% of U.S. GDP. At the IFA Convention, we inducted Greg Flynn, who started with 8 Applebee’s restaurants and built a $1B+ empire, into the IFA Hall of Fame. One of just a few franchisees ever to receive that honor. 🤝 But Greg’s story isn’t the exception. It’s the point. My quote, “We’re not all going to be Steve Jobs or Elon Musk,” underscores that franchising elevates everyday Americans into the ownership economy. As we say, in business for yourself, not by yourself. Franchising works because it aligns incentives at every level — for brands, for owners, for employees, for communities. Motivated entrepreneurs outperform salaried managers. Local knowledge beats corporate-run chain performance. Ownership creates wealth that compounds across generations. Employees are closer to the owners of their businesses, giving them more market power, and thus, stronger wages, benefits and upward mobility. 🏫 And here’s what the data keeps confirming: a new generation is paying attention. As AI disrupts white-collar careers and student debt reshapes the calculus of a college degree, more young Americans are rediscovering what franchisees have always known. In-person, people-powered businesses aren’t going anywhere. As I told The Economist, “There’s really not a franchise you can run without people.” That’s not a vulnerability. That’s the whole point. The American Dream isn’t dead. It’s locally owned, community-rooted, and open for business in franchising. Full piece from The Economist linked below. Worth your time. Location: Marina del Rey, Los Angeles - just a short walk from Venice Beach, epic sunsets, and right in the heart of the global toy & play industry. Minutes from LAX too. After 20 years of trying (and plenty of painful failures) to crack North America, it finally feels real. Not only is North America now soon expected to become our largest market - it’s also our fastest growing. The persistence has paid off. But it’s not the building that excites me most. It’s the people. Today I’m thrilled to publicly announce Andrew Via as our North American Vice President. I first met Andrew through his dad Tom Via (when he was the great and wonderful former CEO of Toys "R" Us Australia). Since then, he’s been part of many chapters of our North American journey: - One of the times we failed attempt to set up our own office. - When Vuly nearly went broke we licensed the region to Spin Master, he went along to their Toronto office and supported the brand. - During the Escalade Sports distribution era, Andrew went out to Evansville, Indiana to represent Vuly. - And now - he’s back home at Vuly! After building and leading a team at Mercado Libre, Andrew has returned to lead our North American crusade for market dominance. I recently spent time meeting with Andrew some of the team in LA he’s already assembled - they’re outstanding. The creative talent depth and volume of LA is thrilling to be around. This is more than an office opening. This is Vuly Play getting ready for war in the North American market 🫡
