Jay Nimkar reacted on thisJay Nimkar reacted on thisThis past week I graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Information with a Master’s degree in Information and Data Science. I'm so thankful to have the privilege to meet so many bright and passionate fellow MIDS students. I've learned so much from my peers and instructors equipping me with not only technical skills in data science but also honing the critical thinking skills that are vital for identifying the key questions that actually need to be solved. I especially wanted to shout out my capstone project partners Stephanie Andrews, Siddharth Manu, and Justin Sterling! Working on long-term memory management with AI agents was a challenging problem and it was cool to see hour our different background influenced the problems we each identified. I also wanted to highlight the incredible work that Stephanie Andrews put in our Big Ideas contest project Veridian! Although we did not end up making it past the final round, I am proud of our work towards solving a problem as important as improving document discovery for international human rights case law. https://lnkd.in/gwWUKa9k Finally, I wanted to reflect on my time in the program holistically. I started grad school straight of undergrad and in this time period I have: - done my first triathlon - broken my first bone - been promoted to senior swe - persevered through family loss Thank you so much to my family and friends who supported me during these challenging times I truly could not have done it without them. And I am proud to be a double bear and to have completed my master’s while maintaining my 4.0 GPA. Go bears!

I'm looking to find a software engineering intern to fill the following role on my awesome team at Tesla for the Fall 2026 term. If you are interested, please message me your resume. Our team builds and maintains the data infrastructure that powers Tesla's Cell Manufacturing process. We design and scale the pipelines, databases, and APIs responsible for collecting and storing data from millions of cells as production ramps. Our work ensures that manufacturing data flows reliably and efficiently from the factory floor into systems where it can be analyzed and acted upon. We are looking for an intern with demonstrated experience with distributed systems with a preference for those who have worked with python, go, kafka and postgres! Note that you must currently be a student pursuing a BS, MS or PhD in computer science, data science, engineering, or related fields

Our patent titled “Systems and Methods for Generating Explainable Recommendations using Generative AI” has been officially filed in the US. At its core, this work focuses on building a next-generation product recommender system that leverages GenAI and agentic architectures to deliver transparent, explainable, and context-aware recommendations, a critical capability for complex industrial and automotive decision-making. This has been a truly global collaboration across Accenture, bringing together diverse perspectives to solve this challenge at scale. Jay Nimkar reacted on thisJay Nimkar reacted on thisA few weeks ago I decided it was time to move on from Tesla. And this week it was made official. First and foremost I want to thank my incredible colleagues and customers. Thank you for helping me gain my footing as I started at a new company, supporting me as I contributed, and trusting me as product lead. Your dedication to the mission is admirable. And the relationships I’ve built with you all is what I’ll miss most. Secondly, thanks to Bryn Cloud for her invaluable lessons on leadership, managing conflict with grace, and most of all how important it is to treat people with respect and dignity. These lessons will stick with me for a long time. Last but not least, thanks to Drupadh Yalamanchili for the teachings on courage, integrity, and transparent communications. I look forward to spending some quality time with my wife and two young daughters while I plan my next move. Onwards and upwards! 💪
