Jay Toffoli shared thisI had the pleasure of working with author Nick Owchar, designing the cover and book layout for his debut novel, "A Walker in the Evening." The story is described as a gothic tale set against the backdrop of two distinct locations, rural Galicia (Ukraine) and cosmopolitan London in the early 1900’s. It’s a great read, full of history, mystery, and suspense. I highly recommend it! I’ve included the village map art I created as well as the audiobook cover art. The cover painting is called “Evening in Ukraine” (1901) by Konstantin Kryzhitsky. Published by Ruby Violet–Publishers, the book is available on Amazon in paperback, ebook, and audiobook formats. #bookcoverdesign #ebookdesign #coverdesign #mapart #mapdesign #nickowchar #rubyvioletpublishers #awalkerinthewoods #ukraine #london #gothic

Jay Toffoli shared thisI just completed a project designing the California Jobs First Regional Report for the County of Los Angeles. Expertly written by Julie Zeisler, the 160-page report details L.A. County’s plan for job growth through local investment opportunities. Covering seven target sectors, the report details strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to the region’s economic future. A big thank you to Charles R. Johnson, MBA and Arman Koohian of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation for their guidance and expertise in shepherding this project from inception to completion.

Jay Toffoli shared thisThe Campaign for CMC: I just wrapped up work on the Claremont McKenna College Campaign Summary and Honor Roll for the incredibly successful fundraising campaign for the college. The 160-page book highlights the pillars of the campaign as well as the generous donors who contributed in excess of $1 billion dollars over the course of the campaign. Written and directed by Thomas Rozwadowski of CMC, the book dives into the ethos of CMC and how the campaign gifts will enhance and expand the Claremont-based College’s offerings and campus footprint. It was a pleasure to work on such an important project with Thomas and the team at CMC. Tim Woolf and the Precision Services Group handled the printing.

Jay Toffoli shared thisUSC Marshall Centennial Book— To memorialize their 100th anniversary, I worked with the USC Marshall School of Business to design a coffee table book commemorating their first 100 years. The cloth-covered hardbound book features a historical narrative written by Holly Bridges, USC Marshall Adjunct Professor of Business Communication, as well as archival and historical images from the USC Archive. The publication documents prominent Marshall buildings, donors, as well as USC Marshall students of the last decade. A historical timeline closes out the publication. The 190-page book was housed in a custom case the featured a stamped, custom logotype created for the special edition tome. Clear Image Printing in Sylmar, CA printed the book and fabricated the enclosure.

Jay Toffoli shared thisA fun identity project for my friends in Northampton. A custom logo to brand their clean up efforts around the western Massachusetts town, TrashWalkers of Northampton. A distinctive ’TrashMan’ icon emphasizes the community-friendly nature of the project while the traffic sign-like yellow and black color scheme creates immediate visual impact, and, helps promote roadside safety. #trashwalkers #branding #logodesign #environmentallyfriendly #earthday2023

Jay Toffoli shared thisI recently worked with Equanimity Financial Partners to create a brand image and website that reflected the company's vision: "to enhance your peace and your joy as a means to successful living." The lotus-inspired icon and color palette reinforce the philosophy that gave birth to the Equanimity Financial Partners approach to investing and wealth management. #design #brand #websitedesign #financialservices #investing #jtdc

I’m incredibly grateful to my peers, Alba Adrian, M.A. and Stephanie German for nominating me, and to my colleagues for placing their trust in me. I look forward to representing the broader USC community and serving as the incoming Chair of Communication for the Assembly. Thank you to everyone for your support. I’m excited for what lies ahead. Jay Toffoli liked thisJay Toffoli liked thisHaving stepped away from photojournalism, I have been busy returning to my roots as an artist. I am exploring different styles and techniques. Painter Pablo Picasso was always one of my modern art heros. While I am no where near his league, I wanted to share my first look into the world of cubism and geometric shapes. So, How did I do? Thoughts?

Jay Toffoli liked thisJay Toffoli liked thisAnoush Baghdassarian ’17 will be written into CMC history as the first graduate to earn the Projects for Peace Alumni Award. The 2026 honoree, Baghdassarian is the fourth awardee since the program’s 2023 inception at Middlebury College. “It was a fantastic surprise and such a special moment. I had no words,” she said. The award provides $50,000 for past Projects for Peace grantees whose original projects as undergraduates have continued to expand in scope, deepen in community partnership, and offer new pathways for transforming conflict. Baghdassarian checks all the boxes. As a CMC senior, Baghdassarian received a 2017 Projects for Peace grant for “Restorative Memory: Eternalizing and Empowering Narratives of Syrian-Armenian Refugees.” This quickly evolved into Rerooted, a nonprofit through which she has led efforts to capture more than 500 testimonies of Armenians worldwide and create a digital archive for research, justice, and preservation efforts. “Justice exists even in just allowing someone a space and a platform to tell their story,” she said. A human rights lawyer and litigation associate focused on “accountability for atrocity crimes,” Baghdassarian said her CMC experience helped crystallize and actualize her ambitions in ways that remain meaningful to her. “Every idea I wanted to bring to life, [CMC] helped me do it,” said Baghdassarian, who now serves on the Advisory Board of the Mgrublian Center for Human Rights. Jay Toffoli liked thisJay Toffoli liked thisToday, President William C. Dudley officially begins his tenure as the sixth president of Claremont McKenna College, succeeding Hiram E. Chodosh, who concluded his accomplished presidency after 13 years. President Dudley will continue to drive bold, strategic thinking on major initiatives (CMC’s Opportunity Strategy, The Open Academy, integrated sciences, The Roberts Campus and Sports Bowl expansion) and ground CMC’s foundational mission—to prepare students for thoughtful and productive lives and responsible leadership in business, government, and the professions—in all facets of the College’s academic and residential experience. He will be joined in Claremont by his wife, Dr. Carola Tanna, a primary care physician and Navy veteran. “Carola and I are thrilled to be in Claremont and I'm excited to get started at CMC,” President Dudley said. “We've felt so warmly welcomed and look forward to getting to know the community and experiencing all that CMC has to offer." Jay Toffoli liked thisHey friends: Here’s a great bite-sized insight from the book “The Soul of Strategy” by the Drucker School of Management’s own David Sprott and Bernie Jaworski. Jay Toffoli liked thisJay Toffoli liked thisFor 16.5 years—which is most of my life in Southern California—I have worked at USC. Along the way, I've been exposed to countless new ideas and experiences. More importantly, I've had the chance to work with incredible people and for this, I am deeply grateful. And now for the news: This week, I started a new adventure as Director of Media Relations at Cal State Fullerton. I am excited for this next chapter and look forward to sharing more soon. Stay tuned!

Jay Toffoli liked thisJay Toffoli liked thisToday is President Hiram Chodosh’s last day leading CMC. At various celebrations in April, CMC shared a special video honoring President Chodosh’s 13-year legacy of learning, leadership, and student opportunity. Anchored by one of his most iconic questions to arriving students—Why are we here?— members of the CMC community shared what he has meant to our mission and growth as an institution. Ken Valach ’82, CMC Board of Trustees Chair, further summarized President Chodosh and Priya Junnar’s indelible impact in his own tribute email, saying both “have inspired, challenged, encouraged, and connected members of our community across generations. Their influence will continue to be felt long after their departure.” Watch the full video and read President Chodosh’s farewell message to CMC: https://lnkd.in/gzVvi5hQ Share your favorite memory or a brief note of thanks to President Chodosh and Priya as we wish them the best in their next adventure!

Jay Toffoli liked thisJay Toffoli liked thisCongratulations to the Pitzer College Office of Advancement and thank you to all of our generous donors who make our work possible. This team and our donors exceeded an all-time high annual fund and increased total fundraising year-over-year by 49%. The increase is even greater over a two-year period, 79% from 2024-2026. All of this, while deepening engagement with alumni, friends, and family, and supporting the infrastructure which no one ever sees, but which keeps the train running.
