Fewer flights. Fewer in-person meetings. No major metro network. I knew that going in. The corporate ladder often rewards proximity. To HQ. To decision makers. To the rooms where things get decided. Living here puts distance between me and all of that. And I'm completely at peace with it. Because the ladder isn't the legacy. The life you build around it is. My kids are growing up with wild horses and open water. With a pace of life that doesn't exist in most places. We’re building something here that no title or territory change can replicate. The career is the vehicle. This life is what it's funding.
