Matt Jacobsen reposted thisMatt Jacobsen reposted thisThe University of Cincinnati recorded its largest enrollment ever as the official head count landed at 53,235 students for fall semester 2024. “As universities around Ohio and across the country see enrollment drops, the University of Cincinnati is continuing to grow, seeing a 10,000 student increase over just the past decade,” says Jack Miner, vice provost of enrollment management. “Our focus on ensuring college accessibility to people right here in Cincinnati has resulted in our ability to attract more online learners, first-generation students and additional students at our regional campuses at UC Blue Ash College and UC Clermont College.

Matt Jacobsen reacted on thisMatt Jacobsen reacted on thisFour years ago, I moved to a new country and started a new chapter at the University of Cincinnati. This week, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics from the Carl H. Lindner College of Business. That sentence feels simple, but it means a lot. When I first came to UC, everything felt new. New country, new people, new classroom culture, and English as my second language. I often knew what I wanted to say, but second-guessed myself before saying it. Public speaking was one of my biggest worries. Getting to present at the AMA International Collegiate Case Competition in Chicago and placing 3rd became a moment I’ll always be proud of. UC also gave me the chance to grow professionally through University of Cincinnati Online, where I worked on SEO/AEO, dashboards, reporting, and marketing analytics. That experience helped me see how much I enjoy the mix of data, strategy, and marketing. I am thankful for my professors, mentors, friends, teammates, coworkers, and everyone who supported me. A special thank you to Connor Martin, Matt Jacobsen , Eric Stock , Darrell Simmons, Melanie B. , Elliott Manzon, Ph.D. for their guidance and encouragement along the way. Matt Jacobsen reacted on thisMatt Jacobsen reacted on thisThis week I graduated with my Master of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati, along with my Graduate Certificate in Digital Marketing. It's been such a formative two years at the greatest college in America, and I'm quite proud of this achievement. This celebration comes as my first child turns 6 months old, and as I celebrate 3 years at the best employer (which just so happens to be that same great college!). As an MBA student, I got married, became a dad, and even founded my passion project, EdenCraft Search Marketing LLC. So, graduating is the close of a really rewarding chapter. I owe a special thanks to my wonderful wife, Emily (Wentz) Martin, for her cheering me on along the way; I could not have done this without her. And, thank you to colleagues, past and present, for their inspiration and support: Eric Stock, Tricia Frederick, Matt Jacobsen, McKenzy Brewer, Renee Higgins, Bailey Rierden, MBA, Andrew Soloman, Joanne Hunt, and Julie J. Thalman. I'm proud to be a Cincinnati graduate, now twice over! Go Bearcats!

Matt Jacobsen reacted on thisMatt Jacobsen reacted on thisProud to share that our team placed 3rd at the AMA International Collegiate Case Competition in Chicago hosted by American Marketing Association. Out of 110 submissions from universities across North America, we were honored to be one of just 11 teams selected to present at the conference. What makes this even more meaningful to me is everything that went into it. We worked through a full case, built a 40-page submission, and presented our solution at the conference. For me personally, this meant a lot. I’ve always felt comfortable in one-on-one settings like interviews, sales calls, or direct conversations. But public speaking in front of a room always felt like a completely different challenge. I’ve had class presentations in the past where I messed up, lost my flow, and walked away knowing I could have done better. So being part of this, and delivering in a moment like this, felt special. This experience pushed me in the best way. It challenged me to think under pressure, trust my team, and show up in a setting that used to feel far outside my comfort zone. I’m really proud of how we worked together on this case and grateful to everyone who was part of the journey. Special thanks to our faculty advisor Elliott Manzon, Ph.D., for your support throughout the competition process and for joining us in Chicago. Eagle Scout Service Project
The keynote requirement to earn the Eagle Scout award is the Eagle Scout Service Project. I based my project's purpose on giving back to the church that had allowed us to house our Troop Meetings since before I was a member of Troop 942. The project consisted of researching an entire process, receiving approval from multiple authorities, and managing all of the work done on site. After raising nearly $3,000 and leading over 400 total volunteer hours on the project, a 500 square foot driveway…

To this day, the driveway is still utilized as a means to get from the parking lot to their garage/patio.
