Gurpreet Singh reacted on thisGurpreet Singh reacted on thisLast week, after the IBM acquisition, I wrapped up my time at Confluent. Like any job, there are things I look back on with pride and, obviously, always things that could have gone better. It was the first time I had been CPO at an “already” public company, rather than helping two companies go public as CPO. It was my first all-remote company (except COVID times). More importantly, I took this role as a jump back into operating after a side street into venture capital. It reignited my passion for being the HR Lady. HR is highly misunderstood. I joke that it’s the only job on an executive management team that every other leader thinks they can do - as does every other employee in the company. Our work touches almost every aspect of a company, and building the systems and tools that support the management team’s culture is a giant team effort; that teamwork and the opportunity to make an impact really inspire me. We can do things to make somewhere a great place to do work. It’s still work, but we can do our best to create the conditions that help people feel their time and work are valued, that we make an impact for customers, and that we are a workplace people are proud be from. I’m incredibly thankful to Jay Kreps for trusting me with his company and to the leadership team that built a partnership to help lead through this acquisition by IBM - Stephen Deasy , Shaun Clowes, Rebecca Chavez, Stephanie Buscemi , Maddie Chavez, Rohan Sivaram, Ryan Mac Ban. I'm also equally proud of the work I did with my own productivity organization, led by Sam McLeod, CCP, GRP, Josh Norris , Scott Wong , Chanae Alexander, Lauren Clark , Juliet Peniston , Ashleigh Anderson, Brad Michael, and Wooten Schmitz. The entire Confluent team was incredible high talent and will be a jewel in IBM’s portfolio. I’m still not quite ready to retire, and I'm doing the company meet & greets/interviews/dating right now to see what comes next … but I know that even in the age of AI, great people with good judgment matter more than ever, and finding a team that embraces this hypothesis is most important as I figure it out.

Gurpreet Singh reacted on thisGurpreet Singh reacted on thisCredit Karma was one of the most beautiful chapters of my career. The impact we achieved was unparalleled, and the friendships we built are for life. Kenneth Lin, Ryan Graciano, Joe Kauffman, Armond Bigian, Wan Agus, Susannah Stroud Wright, Gannesh Bharadhwaj, Frank Vitale, CFA, Nicole James, and Natasha Madan: thank you for your leadership, support, and partnership. To my teams and cross functional partners: you made these years unforgettable. Now, what's next. Nearly 5 billion devices run Unity every day. Odds are, one of them is in your pocket and multiple in your home. I've joined Unity as Chief Information Security Officer, leading Cybersecurity, Core Platform, IT and IAM. Games made with Unity see 3 billion downloads a month. The Unity platform runs an ads business serving 68 billion impressions a month, and it powers real-time 3D for automotive, manufacturing, and robotics. Few companies sit this deep in the world's software supply chain. Fewer still do it at this scale. And now, with Unity 7, game developers and AI agents will build games together. Keeping an ecosystem this vast trusted is a challenge I'm excited to take on. To the Unity team: thank you for the warm welcome. Let's build. #Unity #CISO #Cybersecurity

Gurpreet Singh reacted on thisGurpreet Singh reacted on thisMy rule for this moment in marketing: if you don't drive, you'll be driven. That was the thread of our conversation at Brandweek in Atlanta this week, where we discussed what it takes to lead through AI. A few things I shared: At Intuit Credit Karma, our biggest unlock was creating an AI transformation team within marketing. That got us clear on what problems to solve first, then we built the team and process from there. Segmentation work that once meant a three-month data science ticket was stood up in three weeks by two marketers – Ryan Settles, Federico Picca – at 90% accuracy. Production is basically infinite now, so the scarce skill is knowing which idea is the right one. We use AI to get to the insight, and our team brings the taste, judgement and conviction. Thanks to Tyra Neal and Allison Stadd for an honest conversation that focused on the challenges as much as the wins, and to legendary Talia Bender Small for steering it. Thank you to ADWEEK for having me.

Gurpreet Singh reacted on thisHad an incredible time speaking at AI TechWorld 2026 yesterday in Santa Clara. I shared my work on evaluating AI agent skills and why we need to move beyond “vibe testing” as agents become more capable. Loved the conversations, questions, and energy in the room. I’ve also open-sourced the eval framework behind a lot of this work: https://lnkd.in/gBeKN3Yu Grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve been building and learning with the AI community. #AITechWorld #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #AIAgents #AgenticAI #GenerativeAI #GenAI #LLM #AIEvaluation #AIEngineering #AgentEvaluation #AgentSkills #OpenSource

Gurpreet Singh reacted on thisI am incredibly humbled and excited to start my next chapter as CEO of Spin Credit, in partnership with FEMSA, the incredible Oxxo franchise they’ve built, and QED Investors. I’ve spent the last 20+ years in financial services, building businesses that genuinely help those in need. I’ve seen the positive impact that responsible credit can have on underserved communities. And I know the challenges of doing it well. Oxxo is already serving more than 70 million customers across 25,000 retail locations. We have the privilege to leverage that foundation to bring better financial products to a market that desperately needs it. I’m also incredibly excited to partner with Nigel Morris and the QED team to ensure we bring the best thinking to the table as we build one of the most important financial institutions in Mexico. I just wrapped up my first day with the team here in Mexico CIty and I’m inspired by the passion and energy they bring to our mission. I’ll be looking to build from a strong talent foundation, in Mexico and in the U.S. Our search starts with finding the world class Product and Tech leadership to help shape our culture and accelerate our progress. There has never been a better time to build. And this is a unique opportunity to do so with genuine mission and impact. Message Thomas King if this opportunity calls to you in the same way it did for me. Let’s go!Gurpreet Singh reacted on thisEn FEMSA seguimos ampliando las capacidades que impulsan nuestro crecimiento. Gurpreet Singh liked thisGurpreet Singh liked thisI don’t post much on LinkedIn, but I built something cool that I wanted to share. I’ve spent the past year playing with AI and agents. My sister-in-law Amrita Sandhu-Gill was visiting a couple of months ago, and I showed her all the stuff my agents help me with: coding, email and calendar, marketing, sales, bookkeeping, and even life and business coaching. She asked, “How can I set this up?” And I was like, uhh... it can be pretty technical to set up agents through OpenClaw or Hermes. But our kids were lost in their own world, so we had some uninterrupted time together. That afternoon, I helped her set up her first couple of agents. I thought they’d be a nice-to-have for her. Instead, what she’s done with them over the past two months has been astonishing to watch. She runs two dental clinics, is a parent of two, and manages an Instagram account. She now has 12 agents helping her with leadership, operations, travel, household tasks, social media, finances, event planning, gardening, and the kids. In her words: “It carries the mental load, so I can focus on the things that matter: my career, my passions, my family.” Then her friends started asking if I could set up agents for them. My friends started asking how they could get their own Goku (my business coach). So a few weeks ago, I launched a course for non-technical people. So far, people (who don’t code!) have built 85 agents through it. Link in the comments if you’re interested in having agents carry some of your mental load.

Gurpreet Singh reacted on thisGurpreet Singh reacted on thisLast weekend I was proud to accept EY's Entrepreneur Of The Year award on behalf of the work we've done at Yendo. We built Yendo to fix a major structural issue in consumer finance. More than 65 million Americans get charged excessive rates with low borrowing power by legacy banks and lenders, not because their actual credit risk is exponentially higher, but because the cost of serving them is so high it eats half the price they pay. We believe AI transforms finance when it crushes that cost layer. Today, a Yendo customer is onboarded in ten minutes instead of five days, with more borrowing power and lower costs than anything legacy lenders offer to our user base. To date, we've saved our members more than $250 million in interest and fees through our suite of credit cards. The award belongs to an entire team that spent the last five years on the hardest, least glamorous problem in finance, for the customers the system told no. To them, and to our members: thank you. We've barely begun. More in Yahoo Finance: https://lnkd.in/gPCUdFzE

Last year, Etsy partnered with Stripe to launch Instant Bank Payments on its platform—modernizing bank payments. Available exclusively through Link, Instant Bank Payments transforms ACH into a card-like experience. Buyers link their bank account in just a few clicks and reuse it seamlessly across Etsy, while sellers receive instant confirmation and two-day settlement. Stripe guarantees payments, even if they’re later returned by the bank. The result: more choice at checkout, lower processing costs, and none of the operational complexity traditionally associated with ACH. Today, Instant Bank Payments helps leading brands like OpenAI, Uber, Cursor—and now Etsy—reduce costs while delivering fast, seamless bank payments at scale. https://lnkd.in/e8TN7P6J

I’m looking forward to joining a panel discussion with Nick Stanescu, Stephany Kirkpatrick, CFP®, and Matt Marcus on evolving payment technologies at the 2026 Technology-Enabled Disruption Conference in Boston, an event co-hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Representing Intuit's Fintech platform, where we support millions of small businesses and consumers across payments, payroll, lending, and money movement workflows. I'm excited to contribute to the discussion. We will explore the importance of diversity in payment choice, and how it plays a role with consumers and businesses, particularly small businesses. We will also discuss the challenges, risks and opportunities emerging payments bring to financial inclusion and the financial industry, including evolving partnerships between innovators, tech providers and financial institutions. Watch the conversation live on Tuesday, Feb. 24: https://lnkd.in/guK5hFwB

$640 billion in total payment volume. 299 to more than 8,000 employees. Global payments leader. That’s Stripe. The scale came from execution. And that execution came from Claire Hughes Johnson. At Stripe, Claire wasn’t building features. She was building the operating system behind the company. While founders focused on product, The COO focused on what actually breaks at scale: 🔻Decision velocity slowing. 🔻Teams waiting instead of moving. 🔻Priorities blurring across functions. 🔻Growth outpacing structure. The work wasn’t more hustle. It was tighter execution. Clear ownership. Operating cadence. Decision rights that didn’t funnel back to founders. Systems that held as the company grew globally. That’s what allowed Stripe to scale without collapsing under its own growth. Most companies don’t stall because the product stops working. They stall because execution can’t keep up. This is where a COO does their real work. Not in the spotlight. Not in the pitch deck. Inside the system. That’s how a COO scales a business.

High-performing teams aren’t built through comfort. Like it or not, friction is the currency of building a talent-dense organization, especially one in hypergrowth. When I was at Coinbase, talent density was a constant focus. Now at Engine, I see how that same principle comes to life in new ways. Raising the bar isn’t just about better performance. It’s about creating a culture where peers, managers, and direct reports all push each other for more and better. That can feel uncomfortable, especially for people who haven’t worked in an environment where expectations keep rising. But that discomfort is what growth feels like. The right kind of friction shows who leans into challenge and who prefers comfort. I see it in hiring too. When there’s some friction in the process, you uncover grit and conviction. Discomfort isn’t the goal. It’s the natural result of ambition and accountability coming together. Friction is how talent density grows. And it’s how great cultures stay great. 💪
