I’m so proud of this team. No matter the situation, we never stopped believing in each other or lost sight of our goal. With enough work and enough belief, your dreams are possible and you can overcome any obstacle. Whatever it is in life, believe that you belong. People might disagree but let that strengthen your belief because with hard work, preparation, and the right mindset, anything is possible. I can't wait to celebrate with my family, my teammates, the city of New York, and everyone who's been here from day one. We don’t win this championship without you! I also look forward to continuing to support other people's dreams through my work with the Second Round Foundation, where our mission is helping young people determine their own success no matter where they come from. It is important to me to support the under-resourced, under-represented, and under-estimated, and to ensure that they have the tools, guidance, and belief they need to achieve their dreams. And then. And then. It started with a 3-pointer from Jose Alvarado. A Mikal Bridges layup. A Karl-Anthony Towns 3-pointer. An OG Anunoby 3-pointer. Back and back the Knicks clawed, hitting singles, and the crowds — inside MSG and out — began to lean forward on their heels, then hop up and down nervously, and then scream like they’d been launched into space. “The foresight, the athleticism, the persistence, the pure Anunoby-ness of that play will live on not just forever in Knicks history, but NBA history. Greg Atria liked thisGreg Atria liked thisI worked at a place where I was chosen to participate as tribute to layoff games. I am neurodivergent and have a documented memory disorder, so getting a new job has been difficult to say the least. It doesn’t hold me back in my work, but I also don’t write clever book-knowledge recursive stack trace lists in my sleep. Unfortunately the gatekeeping in the software development industry is still pretty cesspool toxic. Some whiteboard coding session pundits say don’t just jump to writing code, talk through the process and pseudocode with the interviewer. While others suggest you only have 10 minutes to impress the interviewer with your code skills. So it’s a matchup craps game with whomever you’re paired up to interact with in the interview. If they don’t feel it, if there’s bias, if your matter-of-fact way is just too much, if you’re having a gray matter memory chemistry imbalance day. What ever have you. No matter your years of experience in the industry nor success in your past. If the gatekeeping is there. Thou shall not pass. Interviews need to change. Writing algorythms can be learned when needed. Good team members are more difficult to come by.
