This year’s recipient was Shai Amouyal, a student at Columbia University pursuing a dual Masters degree in Business and Engineering. Big congrats to Shai for winning the award. When I joined, I knew little about payments, banking, or financial institutions. I’m happy to say I’m leaving not only with a much deeper understanding of these sectors, but also of how the world works. It really is incredible how much Mastercard touches, but even more so to witness the level of talent behind that impact. To everyone I had the chance to work with, you raised the bar in ways that will stay with me forever. Special thanks to some of my outstanding leaders during this time: Romina Abal, Rita Novosel, Ginger Schmeltzer, Chad Arroyo, and Daniel Cohen. Now, following that same curiosity to understand the world, I’m thrilled to start a new journey at micro1. With the exponential evolution of AI, I couldn’t be more excited to join a space where the questions are still open and the opportunity to shape what's next feels very real. This small program focuses on a strengths-based approach and intensive instruction in English language and literacy, academic subjects, and the arts. The girls range in age from 11 to 19 years old, their families come from 10 countries, and they speak 17 different languages.

Social Security Administration Commissioner Frank Bisignano will take on the newly created role of CEO of the IRS in addition to head of Social Security following his career as CEO of Fiserv. Bisignano will report to Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent meaning he would not have to go through Senate confirmation, allowing him to start working immediately during the government shutdown. Cannot wait to share what I've been learning about #instantpayments adoption from recent conversations with banks and credit unions! ✨ I keep seeing that the real challenge for adoption is making the value of instant payments feel relevant to each audience—especially for stakeholders who aren't living and breathing payments every day. 🤔 I've noticed the most successful implementations come from institutions that focus on three key areas: - Building internal champions who can translate technical complexity into clear business value - Creating simple frameworks to help customers understand when to use different payment types - Training frontline staff to identify and communicate use cases that solve real pain points My rhetoric background taught me that effective communication requires understanding ethos (credibility), pathos (emotion), and logos (logic). The same principles apply here - successful adoption happens when we connect technical capabilities to genuine human needs and business outcomes.
