I got to visit the beautiful ASU campus and meet with President Michael Crow, Sudip Parikh of AAAS, and many other professors and students doing brilliant work there. It's absolutely awesome to be part of their phenomenal team at truly one of the world's finest universities. So many people to thank. I'll start with James J. Tarbox, Ph.D., the entire interview committee, and everyone involved in the decision for your graciousness throughout the process, and especially for the faith you're bestowing on me. I look forward to making a positive impact on the ERO team, the department, and all the students, faculty, staff, and alumni at Stanford. I'm grateful to all of my friends, colleagues, and former students who've reached out during the rollercoaster of the last eight months. Please know that your words of encouragement, funny stories, and particularly your prayers have meant -- and continue to mean -- a great deal to me. Finally and most importantly, endless gratitude to Virginia Lucas and Matt TC Lucas for their unwavering love and support. Kaiser Permanente researchers have developed and implemented an automated tool that can predict the length of time a patient scheduled for surgery will require for a comprehensive preoperative appointment. By blocking out the appropriate amount of time on the doctor’s and patient’s schedules, Kaiser Permanente Northern California is able to provide optimal care to every patient and keep schedules running smoothly, the study’s authors said. The study, published in the American Society of Anesthesiologists® Anesthesiology Journals, was led by Sidney Le, Vincent Liu, and Brad Cohn of the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research and The Permanente Medical Group, Inc., and colleagues.
