The Claude Code source isn't particularly interesting to me, but I did notice there's a "utils" directory with nearly 600 files under it. There is also a directory called "tools" with at least four files named "utilities" under it. There are at least another ten files named some variant of "utils". Is there a less meaningful name than "utils"? Is it meant to imply that all the other stuff outside that directory or file isn't useful? Does that name tell a reader anything at all about the contents or parts or what they might have in common? That you could change the name "utils" to "stuff" or a random string or "junkdrawer" and lose little or nothing suggests it's worth reconsidering. Obviously, you find this kind of naming all over the place, and everywhere it seems at best kind of thoughtless.

I spent 6 months asking developers what actually matters when they choose a building system. The same 4 answers kept showing up: → Speed matters most: If we can get from dirt to lockup in half the time, everything else gets easier. Projects move. Calendars clear. Money stops sitting still. → The crew needs to learn it fast: We need systems that work with normal labor, not just master carpenters. When the build is simple enough that most people can do it, the schedule stops breaking. → The design has to make people stop and look: If the elevations are boring, nobody cares how fast we build or how good the system is. Design wins the first yes. → The materials need to feel solid: Not expensive, just solid. If it feels cheap when you touch it, the whole thing falls apart. That is what actually moves deals: Speed. Simple labor. Good design. Materials that last. It’s about showing proof first, then everything else follows. What would you add to the list? Let me know if I’m missing anything.
