Known for many years as just an actress, she also famously said, “The brains of people are more interesting than the looks.” And what a brain she had. Today, many of my programs use tech derived from her frequency-hopping experiments, and my kids wouldn’t know what to do with themselves if we didn’t have Wi-Fi (thanks, Hedy). Loving this trend in the #GPSIII program to honor women who made a difference in #space!

Elliot Scherr liked thisElliot Scherr liked thisFrom use to return: Are wipes ready for the circular economy? At CHT Group, we believe that performance and sustainability must go hand in hand. Especially in wipe formulations, the challenge is clear: delivering excellent results in use while enabling a responsible end-of-life. We are pleased to announce that our colleague Kyle R. (Applications Manager, CHT USA) will be speaking at the international conference WOW – WORLD OF WIPES in Nashville. In his presentation, he will share how degradable high-performance chemistries are reshaping wipe and nonwoven formulations. Key topics will include: · The use of degradable carriers to support environmental breakdown · High-efficiency, PEG-free emulsifier systems that lower overall chemical loading while ensuring stability and sensory quality · Water-efficient formulations designed for consistent in-package and shelf-life performance These approaches enable formulations that combine softness, lubricity and skin comfort with reliable functionality across a wide range of substrates. At the same time, the developments address an essential aspect of CIRCULAR ECONOMY: end-of-life. Materials are designed to degrade within approximately six months, breaking down into naturally occurring components. Together with optimized, recyclable packaging solutions, this creates a pathway towards more circular product concepts in the wipes segment. Elliot Scherr liked thisElliot Scherr liked thisAfter more than 25 years in the sustainability space, I’m officially retired from my corporate role. And that feels surreal to say out loud. When I began this journey, sustainability wasn’t yet the mainstream business conversation it is today. Many of us in the early days were building programs, strategies, and partnerships before there were roadmaps, standards, or even widespread understanding of why this work mattered. We were figuring it out as we went — driven by science, purpose, and the belief that business could help create a better future. Looking back, I’m incredibly proud of the work: the progress made, the goals achieved, the collaborations built, and the impact created along the way. But honestly, what I’m most grateful for are the people. The colleagues, clients, partners, mentors, teams, and friends I met throughout this journey are what made it most meaningful. Some of the smartest, most passionate, mission-driven people I’ve ever known have been part of this chapter of my life, and I will carry those relationships with me forever. And while I may be retiring from my official role… Sustainability never really stops. Neither does curiosity. Neither does learning. Neither does the desire to contribute and make a difference. This is simply the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another. To everyone who was part of this journey with me — thank you. Truly. ❤️
