The timing was perfect, as we approach the second half of 2026 it feels like the best moment to reflect on the year so far. It’s been a rewarding six months, including recognition from leadership through this award, consistently exceeding targets, and being promoted to Senior Client Account Executive at Outreach. A perfect reminder that hard work, resilience, and determination pay off. Grateful for the journey so far and excited to see what the rest of the year brings.

Over 50 people showed up. 🤩 It all came together when J Matthew Saunders (CSPO, CSM, SLPM), Mike Gifford, CPWA, Richard Gerdes, and I had drinks after the Drupal AI summit in NYC last May. It was awesome to see folks from the #Drupal, #WordPress, #Typo3 and other open source technologies coming together... Agency people, university people, civic tech people. Tim Doyle and Timothy Lehnen from the Drupal Association. John Cloys from Princeton University, Aaron Lee Fineman from John Jay College, Tammy Hung from IEEE Society, Devan Martin from Guttmacher Institute, Mathias Bolt Lesniak repping Typo3, Nick Veenhof from GitLab and many others. This was also a first step toward our next 2-day EvolveDigital NYC 2026 summit on November 19-20 at CivicHall. We're already looking for speakers. But I also think there are moments in life when the right opportunity matters WAY more... A week ago, I joined LlamAssist. Only 8 months into my last role... I don’t make a habit of changing roles quickly, and leaving great people is never easy. Shout out to Matt Schatz, David Brolsma, Jhoan Checo. 🙏 But every once in a while, an opportunity comes along that feels impossible to ignore. For almost two years now, I’ve spent a good portion of my evenings and weekends exploring AI, automation, workflow design, and emerging technology simply because it fascinates me in a way that no technology has since the birth of the consumer Internet. It became the thing I’d stay up way too late learning about, building with, and talking about...much to the annoyance of most of my friends. And now, somehow, those projects I couldn’t wait to work on after work have become the projects I get to work on during the day. And that still feels surreal. At Llamassist, we help organizations navigate one of the biggest technology shifts of our generation. We build boutique and highly-custom AI solutions for companies that want to actually use this technology, not just talk about it. The market is still early, it’s fast-moving, and every day feels like the kind of work I used to save for 11pm. That’s a pretty incredible feeling. So if you’re spending time after hours learning something, building something, or chasing an interest that won’t leave you alone, keep going. Sometimes the thing you do because you’re genuinely curious about it ends up opening doors you never expected. And getting to work with Eric "ET" Thiel again while learning from and building alongside Rob Shambaugh? This is the most excited I've ever been in my career. I will be sharing more of what we’re building soon. We’re absolutely COOKING over here. 🙂

Again, I mean this in the context of Enterprise workloads and sites that matter, not for every single instance; but I really mean it! There's three layers to this story: 1. The ability to handle high traffic at a moment's notice 2. Tight integration w/GitHub - no longer optional in the AI era 3. Moving beyond multisite as the go-to solution for portfolio management There's simply no other WordPress vendor that hits these marks. And for WordPress to reach full flight in the Enterprise, all three are hard requirements. First off, the easiest and most obvious: traffic. Handling traffic spikes requires you to scale horizontally, spreading the workload across multiple machines, but the vast majority of WP providers operate on a shared server model. That means not only are you stuck with the max resources of one box, any site that needs to scale will eat up all those resources to the detriment of the others. The "one box" architecture is cheap and easy to set up, and it work great right up until it doesn't. Even if you have a dedicated server, that's still finite capacity. Once you max it out you are hard down until the traffic goes away. That might be acceptable for a small business, but it's a deal-breaker in the Enterprise. Containerization is one way to solve this between sites, but you need the ability to orchestrate multiple containers and load-balance across them to actually handle scale. Check the fine print if your vendor boasts about being containerized: if they're just slinging one container per site, you're just getting dedicated micro-boxes. There are a few hosts out there that do provide load-balanced infrastructure, but only Pantheon and VIP do it by default. For every other provider it's a side-quest... and it shows. There's just now way to be top-tier with a product that only a handful of your customers use. Up next, version control. Gonna need a new post for this! EDIT: part two is here https://lnkd.in/eza9CWik
