I was laid off last March, and timing-wise I was pretty far into my pregnancy so wasn’t getting very lucky with offers. I took some time to have my daughter and be home with her for a bit, but now actively job searching again! I’m a Content & Communications Specialist, with a side of project managing. A lot of what I do is take messy, confusing, or changing information and turn it into something people can understand and use. I’ve worked on things like external communications, KB migrations, chatbot implementation, onboarding content, product launches, sales training, and just generally fixing things that aren’t working or communicating needs! I’m mainly looking for roles in content, communications, or operations. Open to remote, hybrid, or in person in SLC or Lehi. Douglas Shane shared thisReposting for reach….Eric would be a great addition to any team.Douglas Shane shared thisOver the past four years I have had some really amazing opportunities to manage projects that were strategic priorities for Nu Skin, but were simultaneously proving grounds for me as I stretched my experience and exposure to new areas. In that time I flexed my project management muscles in new ways and leveraged that into owning and managing projects at a program level. Now, that time has come to an end. Layoffs are hard. There is no getting around that. But I leave Nu Skin with a lot of experience in new areas, and a lot of sharpening in areas where I excel. More importantly, I leave with a lot of gratitude for the experiences I had, and for the people that helped shaped those experiences. Lisa Killpack for trusting me enough to assign me to projects that were company priorities, Craig Mangum for always having my back and being my sounding board when I needed advice, Guthrie for showing me the ropes when I first got to Nu Skin, and some of the outstanding project leads I got to learn from - Colin Silva, Abby Averett, Cody Webb. So now I’m looking for a new role in Project Management or Program Management. I have a lot of experience in helping companies develop and manufacture physical consumer goods and taking them to market. This will be my first clinical placement, and I’m looking for an opportunity in Northern Utah that can accommodate evening and/or weekend hours. I’m especially interested in supporting individuals with anxiety, life stressors, and/or addiction. I’ve started reaching out to local organizations, but I know many opportunities come through connection and word of mouth. It’s taken me a bit to write something about it because there have been a lot of feelings, something anyone who’s been laid off can probably relate to. I worked with the best people I’ve worked with in my career. They genuinely cared about the product and the work they were doing, and I made some of my closest friends there. While being affected by this has been hard, I’m mostly just really sad to be leaving those amazing people. I’m also really proud of the work I did at Purple. I had the opportunity to build and improve recruiting processes, partner closely with leaders, support amazing candidates, and help move the business forward. I grew a lot, both professionally and personally. I wasn’t the only one affected, and there are so many talented people now on the job market. If you’re a recruiter reading this, look up Purple people, they are all amazing. All that being said, I’m officially looking for my next opportunity in Talent Acquisition! It has been a whirlwind the last few days and if you drove by a week ago, you would have thought “no way is this happening." I am so in awe of my General Contractor Pat J. Lynn, his subs, the team, the communication, tenacity, sweaty hard work and all the little details I was spared to get this place ready to welcome 31 Campers! I would also love to thank my husband Jonathon Cordell and children - for putting up with my complaining, 16 hour work days and spending this past Sunday setting up the studio - unboxing, organizing and cleaning. They asked “can we play hide and seek?” The place is rather large! And to the Pizzuti crew Michael A. Chivini & John Kenney- from zoning amendments to construction, I am grateful to be your Tenant in the gorgeous Coppia building! Lastly, my gratitude for this community. The support you have shown for a mom-owned small business is truly mind-blowing and sometimes brings me tears of joy to be able to do this important work. Thank you so much for entrusting your child(ren) to hopefully spark a love of cooking…and eating! 💕 Let's go find studio number three William Winter 😉

But the most interesting conversation I had recently was about something much smaller and much more powerful than that. AI does not have to write code or do something big to be transformative. It can analyze a small subset of data and surface a pattern you would have taken three days to find manually. It can synthesize stakeholder feedback from twenty interviews into themes in minutes. It can draft a risk assessment framework so you can spend your energy pressure testing it rather than building it from scratch. Small inputs. Meaningful outputs. And here is the part that matters most. The human is still driving toward the outcome. AI is doing the deep dive analytical work so the PM can focus on what only a human can do. Connecting people to the purpose behind the work. Building the trust that turns a recommendation into a decision. Leading a team through the ambiguity that no algorithm can navigate. The best use of AI in project management is not replacing the PM. It is freeing the PM to be more human. AI handles the analysis. You handle the meaning. That is not a threat to project management. That is project management at its best. How are you using AI in small, practical ways on your projects right now? It felt strange to close my laptop and log off knowing I wouldn’t be returning to the people, teams, and projects I’ve worked with nearly every day for the last three years. I’ll miss our Friday virtual games (oops, I mean trainings), themed sprint reviews, field trips to the showrooms, and definitely the employee discounts. Most of all, I’ll miss all the incredible people I got to work with. Purple truly does have some of the best people, and I’ve made friendships that I hope last a lifetime. I was a Purple customer long before I was an employee, and I’m excited to see what’s next for them! You can bet I’ll be first in line if we ever get a Harmony Body Pillow. After all, home is where my Harmony Pillow is. 😉 Thanks to everyone at Purple, past and present, who made these last three years so great! 💜
