Dora lambrecht liked thisDora lambrecht liked thisYour title doesn't make you a leader. How you choose to treat your team does. The best leaders make people feel valued and seen. Appreciation is the greatest gift you can give your team - it costs nothing but means everything. What to do as a leader: ✅ Appreciate impact and contributions: ↳ Even a simple thank you goes a long way. ↳ Show genuine appreciation regularly, not just during reviews. ✅ Provide growth opportunities: ↳ Listen and understand their career aspirations. ↳ Create paths for advancement before they look elsewhere. ✅ Ask for their input when making decisions: ↳ Appreciate diverse perspectives. ↳ Create an environment where every voice matters. ✅ Make time for meaningful 1-on-1s: ↳ Ensure your meetings are safe spaces for honest discussions. ↳ Build trust through active listening. ✅ Ensure fair compensation: ↳ Regularly review and adjust compensations and benefits. ↳ Everyone deserves to be paid for their worth. What to avoid as a leader: ❌ Taking people for granted: ↳ Not feeling valued is a top reason people disengage and leave. ❌ Taking credit for your team's work: ↳ Claiming their achievements as your own destroys trust. ↳ Celebrate successes and learnings. ❌ Rewarding your high-performers with more work: ↳ Reward them by supporting their career aspirations instead. ↳ Help them grow; don't just add to their plate. ❌ Setting unrealistic goals: ↳ Don't set targets that will require regular overwork. ↳ Success shouldn't come at the cost of well-being. ❌ Disrespecting personal time and boundaries: ↳ Expecting 24x7 availability leads to burnout. ↳ Respect their lives outside of work. Be the leader you wish you had. What's one small gesture from a leader that made you feel truly valued? Dora lambrecht liked thisDora lambrecht liked thisMarket Report 9.19.2024 Supplies are lighter this week on local corn, bell peppers, hot peppers, squash, and cucumbers. East Coast berries and stone fruit are wrapping up while beans continue to be stable. Fall items such as sweet potatoes and pumpkins are expected to be available this week. We are watching for impacts of Tropical Storm Francine and will assess once the storm leaves the region. Tomato markets are still volatile with rounds lighter this week and plenty of romas available. Current table grape supply and demand out of California remain strong, however we do feel the season will come to a close early due to heat related crop losses. Pineapples continue to be short, and shippers are asking to be flexible on sizing to navigate the shortfalls. In the West, tighter supply available to market on mushrooms; weather impacts and viral pressure have caused supply shortfalls across the region on all varieties. Lime volume is improving, but overall remains lighter than normal. Loca fruit out of both Michoacán and Jalisco is sizing up, and 48s are becoming a larger portion of the size curve. Weather in the Salinas Valley is continuing to cool down. There has been some warm rain which is considered “mildew weather.” Growers will be employing all mitigation measures possible to combat any mildew. Endives, escarole, leeks, cilantro and fennel are still escalated but are trending down. Green onions and artichokes are still at the extreme trigger and are extremely tight. For green onions, we have growers who do not have any product at all. A market alert was sent out and we can expect quality and supply issues to last through the month. Broccoli is still escalated and there is some insect intrusion that is limiting what will be harvested. There are some growers that will be prorating on shredded cabbage, but we should be fine on contract business. Spinach is still not escalated, but it is on the watchlist due to tight supplies and some insect damage. Excessive heat in the San Joaquin Valley citrus growing areas has heavily affected supplies on the Valencia orange.
