David Dvorin reacted on thisDavid Dvorin reacted on thisLast night, my son had a school project for Spanish class: make churros and document. I stayed out of it at first. Teenager. His project, etc. That didn’t last long. His older sister jumped in, there was yelling, some churros were burned, others raw, batter everywhere, and the dog stood by waiting for scraps to fall - Total chaos! Eventually, mom and operations professional mode stepped in. I paused everything and assigned roles. One person mixed. One fried. One handled the sugar coating. Almost instantly, the noise stopped. The churros came out consistent. And suddenly… we had a dessert worth eating. After 15+ years in operations, I see this everywhere—kitchens and companies alike: 👉 Good people without process create friction. 👉 Clear process creates flow. Founders worry process will slow them down. In reality, it keeps the churro line moving! 😊 If your business feels louder or messier than it should, that might be the signal. A little structure goes a long way. (And yes, kitchen cleanup was required before taste testing.)
