Dave Byrne shared thisThere are a lot of Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity recaps floating around this month. The one I spent the most time with was Responsible Marketing Advisory | Certified B Corp™'s "Responsible Edit" (link in the comments) a collection of campaigns showing that real social and environmental impact drives business results. Just some of the examples were Specsavers growing hearing aid sales 69% by tackling hearing stigma, adidas building a new product line with the Down's syndrome community, Mars investing $15M in climate-resistant peanuts & driving $1B in sales. What encouraged me most is how much of this work lives on beyond the campaign itself. For example, Mars open-sourced that peanut research. There's more to be done, and plenty of work still stops when the media buy does. But for anyone setting next year's budget, this is the case that responsible media belongs in the growth column, not the cost column. Dave Byrne shared thisInstagram changed its defaults this week so public accounts are now opted into AI image generation automatically. Tag someone in a prompt, and Meta's new Muse Image will pull from their posts to generate something new. You don't get notified, and turning the setting off afterward doesn't remove anything already created. While this might be a Meta story, this will just be the first big platform to ship this kind of feature so publicly. Any platform sitting on a huge library of user content has the exact same incentive. Brands and creators can't rely on platform settings to protect their work anymore. Protection has to happen at the source, tagging assets with proof of ownership and clear terms before uploading them. It stops at the visual layer. Display ads get dynamic creative. Video gets DCO. Every major DSP has spent the last decade building addressable infrastructure for what you can see. Audio gets a single radio spot shipped to every market. The irony is that audio is arguably the most intimate channel. It's in someone's ear, on the commute, in the gym, in the kitchen. The context is personal. The creative almost never is. It's a production infrastructure problem. Dynamic audio at scale has never had the tooling that video and display have had for years. Today, we're launching DynamicCreative to change that. Elena’s been building a tech company in the US as an immigrant founder for over a decade, and we got onto the topic of why founders from outside America so often hold themselves back when they meet US investors. She put it like this: you are your own best PR manager. Because if you’re not bragging about yourself, who will? Coming from an Irish founder mindset, that lands. We’re not raised to oversell ourselves. The problem is when you walk into a room with a US investor, they have zero context about you, and they will fill in the blanks themselves if you don’t. Dave Byrne reacted on thisDave Byrne reacted on thisToday's one piece of advice: check out the podcast Who Moved My Career?! for the unfiltered advice and stories you're not seeing on LinkedIn. Last night, I met Nicole Wheeler McNamara, host of Who Moved My Career?! in person for the very first time and she's just as brilliant and vibrant and generous and authentic a human being as you will ever meet. It's so clear after being with her for 10 seconds why her podcast is in the top 10% *globally* on Spotify. But *why* we met is just as special as *that* we met. Nicole invited me to a movie screening of a documentary film on Project Children, an organization that gave North Irish children an opportunity to escape the violent conflict in their home country in the 1970-90s and spend a summer in the U.S. (Also, it's narrated by Northern Ireland's very own Liam Neeson!) Cool, but so what? It turns out she was actually IN this documentary, because her family chose to be hosts to children many years ago, and they later went on to create the Washington Ireland Program to continue the work of building and extending peace in Northern Ireland. Nicole mentioned to me that not many people realize that the Washington Ireland Program has it's roots in Project Children. I am a firm believer in the idea that we are the sum of our collective experiences and to truly understand anything, you also need to understand it's roots. And the roots of the roots. And the roots of the roots of the roots. Ok, why am I telling you all of this? I met Nicole virtually a few months ago and got to know her as an open, curious, inquisitive, authentic human. But last night, I got to know her all over again as an open, curious, inquisitive, authentic human through the lens of her family, which I could see through the lens of the Washington Ireland Program, which I could see through the lens of Project Children (...which I heard through the lens of Liam Neeson). So, thank you, Nicole for the beautiful reminder of how much depth we all carry within is. My hope and dream for the world is that she quits her brand new day job to teach classes on how fully embracing everything we are and bringing our full authentic selves to the table. The world would be a better place for it.

Eric is spot on here. The AI landscape is fluid and the security and compliance controls are not in place. Anyone who wishes to gain all of the productivity benefits without unplanned downtime or risk to critical data assets should be considering private hosted or on-premises solutions for at least a portion of their AI estate. << Google, OpenAI and xAI have all expressed their willingness to accommodate the DoW's demands. Importantly noting, last year Google dropped their promise to not use AI for weapons or surveillance and this year OpenAI deleted the word safety from their mission. >> Does anybody know this to be false?
