And apparently that is controversial in corporate. “But they said they would take $95K.” Okay? Their lack of salary market data isn't a discount code. Paying someone less because they don't know their worth isn't good negotiation. It's exploitation with an offer letter. Pay people for the value of the role. It’s more than a milestone. It is a mirror that reflects the people, the support, and the grace of God that carried me here. My family, Celeste R. Smith, CAE, Jaeden Smith, and Jena Smith has been the backbone of this entire process. They carried the weight of late nights, shifting priorities, and the emotional bandwidth that research quietly consumes. Their encouragement during the hardest seasons sustained me when the path felt uncertain. I am deeply grateful for my dissertation chair, Grace Lemmon and the committee whose rigor, patience, and intellectual generosity pushed me beyond what I thought I could do. They did not simply guide a project. They shaped a scholar. I want to offer a special acknowledgment to president Robert Manuel whose support I am forever grateful for. Leadership is often measured in outcomes, but its truest form is seen in the quiet, consistent investment in people. Your belief in my potential created space for this journey to unfold, and I will never forget that. My cohort became a community of thinkers who pushed one another toward clarity, depth, and courage. We learned to interrogate ideas without diminishing each other, to celebrate progress without comparison, and to stay with the hard questions long after the easy answers ran out. My research on crisis leadership and the temporal discount rate in decision making during crises taught me something I will carry for the rest of my life. Leaders are not defined by the crises they face, but by the formation that precedes those moments. Crisis reveals character. It rarely creates it. That insight has reshaped how I understand leadership, responsibility, and the work ahead. Along this road, I realized that scholarship is not about personal achievement. It is about purpose, about producing knowledge that strengthens others, equips others, and serves others. The degree is mine, but the work is for the world beyond me. In this role, I'll be partnering with enterprise clients to lead content supply chain transformations, designing operating models, governance frameworks, and end-to-end workflows that help organizations scale content across the Adobe Content Supply Chain Ecosystem. What makes this chapter so meaningful is how naturally it builds on the past several years I spent as a Strategy Consultant at LeapPoint, an Omnicom Precision Marketing Company, leading Adobe content supply chain transformations for Fortune 100/500 clients. Joining Adobe brings that full circle, allowing me to deliver these transformations directly as part of Adobe's own consulting team. During a passionate discussion on the podcast, Clark boldly urged Black athletes to reconsider signing with schools in states that engage in gerrymandering, claiming it directly impacts Black representation and voting power. "Black college athletes need to stop signing with schools in states that gerrymander districts to block Black representation." Clark’s remarks reflect a growing push for athletes to use their platform for social and political impact, particularly when it comes to issues that disproportionately affect Black communities. He argues that the political climate in certain states, which includes deliberate efforts to dilute Black voting power through redistricting, should be a serious consideration for athletes when choosing where to attend school and compete. The conversation sparked a heated debate, with some applauding Clark for linking social justice and sports while others challenged the practical implications of his argument. Regardless, Clark’s call for athletes to think beyond their sport and consider the political landscape highlights the increasing intersection between activism, athletics, and social responsibility—a theme that’s becoming ever more central in today’s sports culture.”
