It sent a message that the largest market on the continent was an afterthought — not worth a real commitment. Glad they’ve changed their mind.

Daniel Black shared thisAI WILL TAKE MY JOB 🤷♂️ ⁉️ Block cut their headcount in half and Anthropic dropped a weird circle chart I didn't take time to decipher. People are scared, but every situation is different. I work in startups where runway and efficiency are everything. But I learned to manage people at McMaster-Carr, a family-owned multi-billion-dollar company that pays call center agents $150k because their human touch helps them beat Amazon and Grainger. Regardless of how safe you are, why not learn the tools? Don't wait for the perfect use case. Make a fake lemonade stand site in v0. Validate your budget in Julius or Claude. Build a "takeout recommender" app in Lovable before ordering dinner. Don't overthink it. Most businesses slow down in summer. If you haven't touched these tools by June, spend a few hours to ship something instead of taking a summer Friday. Start small...these tools reward the effort. The window won't be there by summer 2027.

The media ecosystem runs on broken data and everyone knows it. The first company to close that gap becomes the standard. That's what we're building at HyphaMetrics. The industry has had “big data” for years. What's missing is ground truth. Our patented hardware and proprietary AI capture what people actually watch on every screen in real households nationwide: streaming, CTV, gaming, dynamic ads, everything the old incumbents cannot measure. It means the streaming platform thought you were a target and sold the space to an advertiser hoping to reach you. Archaic measurement methodologies and old tech are often the culprit, and entire categories and use cases of viewing remain unmeasured altogether. After nearly 3 great years going deep in a single emerging media channel—scaling WhatsApp products across Latin America at Treble, I'm thrilled to join HyphaMetrics and lead the ops team. Escuchando a Julio Vasconcellos y Olga Maslikhova hablar sobre cómo los retornos en LATAM superan a otras regiones, sentí tanto orgullo por lo logrado como la certeza de que apenas estamos comenzando. Hablé con VCs en San Francisco la semana pasada. Noté curiosidad e intriga, pero poca experiencia directa. O peor aún: preocupación. Nubank le mostró al mundo cómo construir un negocio excepcional gracias a los rasgos latinoamericanos, no a pesar de ellos. Hoy ya no parezco tan turista como antes (Perú 2010) Agradecido con ellos y otros por reducir el riesgo percibido de la región. ¡Vamos con todo!

Today we officially kick off our $2M pre seed round for Salubrum (Backed by Forum Ventures), supported by Forum Ventures, Coeus Collective Ventures, and Draper House Americas. Healthcare companies spend over $30B a year trying to acquire patients. The problem is not media. The problem is timing. Every time a patient approaches a healthcare decision a moment opens. Which doctor to see. Which procedure to pursue. Which treatment to start. For the companies involved in that decision, knowing that moment exists is incredibly valuable. Salubrum (Backed by Forum Ventures) is building the intelligence layer that maps those decision moments across the U.S. patient population. Our system aggregates large healthcare datasets covering 300M+ patient identities and uses them to predict when individuals are approaching important healthcare decisions. That signal can then be used by providers, pharma companies, payers, and other healthcare organizations trying to reach patients at the right time. Our first wedge is patient acquisition for healthcare providers and brands, but the underlying intelligence layer has much broader applications wherever patient behavior influences economic decisions.
