Daniel Murray shared thisNobody believes adjectives anymore. "Premium." "Innovative." "Best-in-class." Potential buyers have scrolled past those words 10,000 times. What actually works is proof. One of the GREATEST ad lines ever written didn't call a car luxurious. It said at 60mph, the loudest sound inside was the clock ticking. No adjectives. Just 1 detail so specific you could picture the whole car. Claims are cheap. Anyone can type them. Proof means you actually have to be good at what you're claiming. They watched 3 LinkedIn posts from an influencer. They read 2 articles. Opened 4 emails. Ghosted your retargeting ads for a week (rude, but fair). THEN they Googled your brand name and clicked the ad. And Google said “you’re welcome” Your CFO wants a number. Google hands them a clean one. That doesn’t make it the right 1.

Albums, playlists, the full rabbit hole. My Wrapped will never recover. It was awesome. Social was the spark for me. It was where I first learned about these artists. But Spotify is where I went to become a FAN. And after reading Spotify Advertising’s Culture Next: The Fan Edit, I can see I'm not alone. But more than that, it confirmed that if you're a Marketer only thinking about search & social, you're meeting your audience at the spark, but missing the entire relationship. Daniel Murray liked thisDaniel Murray liked thisSo many people sent me this graphic this week that I guess defending the em dash has become my entire personality... and I’m not mad about it. Maybe you’ve seen this idea expressed here or elsewhere: “As soon as I see an em dash, I stop reading.” Which is—for the love of semicolons—absolutely ridiculous. The em dash has an actual job. It has had one for *literally centuries*. Here’s the two-second test for whether you should assign it to that job in your own content: >>> THE 2-SECOND EM DASH TEST <<< 1. Do you need an interruption, an important aside, a dramatic turn, or a little extra oomph? 2. Does the em dash create a meaningful pause, a turn of thought, contrast, surprise, a human aside, or emphasis the sentence has actually earned? Then (and only then!): Fearlessly use an em dash! * * * The question is not this: “Does this punctuation look like AI?” It’s this: “Is this punctuation doing real work?” A useful em dash is a hinge. It turns the sentence. It mimics our conversational, emotional, sometimes delightfully digressive voices—the kind that wander, like this sentence is doing right now, before plopping into a seat and parking themselves on the page. A lazy em dash creates smoggy slop, spewing robo-nothingness into the atmosphere like a dirty diesel engine. It makes things look dramatic and gross without making them clearer. * * * The em dash—as the starting lineup of Team Punctuation—isn’t just grammar. Punctuation is a kind of wingman to your words: It helps them confidently come alive in someone else’s mind. Like writing itself, punctuation is less about hard and fast rules than it is about rhythm, taste, intention, and sounding unmistakably human. So use the em dash bravely—I beg of you—but make it earn its place. * * * Why do I care so much about a stupid em dash? Why not remove them all and call it a day? Why should *you* care? Because friends: It actually matters. The way we take care of small things is how we take care of big things. The em dash is a small thing. But it’s also one way writers can claw back what’s ours from a technology that has—let’s be honest—already taken quite a bit from us. We can’t push AI back into a box. but we can reclaim what’s rightfully ours. Also, because I HAVE. HAD. IT. The robots do not own the em dash. Get in, loser—we’re taking it back. I don't see the value in outsourcing any element of that." Kane Parsons is the youngest director to top the box office. He's 20 years old. Backrooms is pacing for $400M+ I saved the interview snippet for you. Kane's POV on AI for you: "When I'm looking at someone else's project, if I see an element of the environment has been generative filled or whatever to change something about the scene, it just shuts off the part of my brain that wants to know more about that world and wants to look for details, because I would assume if they're willing to make an arbitrary choice there, they could make an arbitrary choice with literally anything" In the corporate world, AI is an efficiency play. Most of us don't have the luxury of not adopting AI. But I'm fascinated with how world-class storytellers think about AI. They don't care about efficiency. They care about getting the story right and making a connection with the audience. The thing Kane is naming here is trust. Craft and proof of work signal to your audience that a lot of thought and hard work went into what you're watching. Craft has always been a signal of trust which is a big part of why we capture the b roll for our Motion events. When we're filming for 12 hours in a studio with film grade equipment, we always capture that footage because it's a simple equation. If we're investing $$$, time, and production quality, that means we believe the content is worth investing in. Therefore, you're more likely to tune in because you trust that the content will be worth your time. VS When craft gets treated as skippable? Kane's POV is that the audience can't tell which choices in the work were considered and which were generated. Once that gets fuzzy, the whole world of the piece stops holding together because you can't look for meaning in a detail if you suspect no one put meaning in it. So friendly reminder: Show your proof of work early and often.

Such a great activation. Apparently they also have street teams handing out Uber branded tissue packs to fans whose team has been knocked out. The campaign is currently running across cities in the US and Canada, with stops at fifa fan festivals, built with their experiential partner CNC. I love how simple they made it work in the UI. In the app, you pick your side in one click. You simply choose your team icon. Then if that team gets eliminated, Uber sends you what they've branded as a "Defeat Deal" with 30% off your next ride. Now, they've hard capped this at about $7 with a max use of one per person so it's not a gamebreaking promo by any means. But I did like the messaging they paired with the activation in app. "So you can leave the packed bars, game day crowds, and heartbreak behind"

Here’s the 5-minute, multi-channel play I run with clients using HubSpot + ZoomInfo + ConnectAndSell: Minute 0–1: Trigger - Hand-raise hits HubSpot. Workflow auto-enriches with ZoomInfo (direct dial, role, company data). - Routes to the right owner, sets a 5-minute SLA, pings Slack, and creates a “Do Now” task with context. Minute 1–2: Personalized auto-send - HubSpot fires a short, value-forward email and SMS with a one-click calendar link and the exact asset they requested. - Personalization tokens pull from enrichment so it feels human, not hollow. Minute 2–4: Live call blitz - Push the record into ConnectAndSell for an immediate blitz using local presence. - Goal: live conversation now. If no connect, drop a tight voicemail and follow with a short SMS. Minute 4–5: Social + next step - View their profile, leave a soft LinkedIn note that references the trigger. - HubSpot auto-logs every touch, sets the next task, and enrolls into the right sequence if no connect. Governance that keeps it clean: - Respect consent. Use SMS opt-in and include opt-out language. All share one thing: none are easy. If they were, SaaS companies would have built them in already. 🤔 Before building your own automation and scoring logic, ask: how many corner cases will you miss? Will results be reliable? Is it worth the time? We cannot answer that, but we can take them off your plate in minutes, freeing days for your next client. 1️⃣ Upload your list.
