Strong leadership includes having solutions, confidence, and certainty. But your greatest leadership growth won’t come through success. Growing up on a “gentleman’s farm” my dad had a saying that has stayed with me all these years. “If you spend enough time around manure… you’ll start smelling like it.” His point wasn’t about farming. It was about influence. The people we surround ourselves with shape our attitudes, our priorities, our language, and eventually our character. I’ve learned the same thing in my own recovery journey. Real freedom didn’t come by following what everyone else was doing. It came when I started following God’s Word—even when it meant walking a different path. The crowd isn’t always wrong. But the crowd should never be our compass. Choose your influences wisely. Follow His Word… not the herd. In His Grip, O.R. #InHisGripOR
