Chelsea Manor reacted on thisChelsea Manor reacted on thisAfter attending the RedThread Research and Equilar summits last week, my “2025-2026 event season” (like a school year) has come to an end. Had a blast meeting and learning from folks at events like HR Tech, UNLEASH (made it to both World and Americas), Gartner #HRSymposium, The Conference Board (Year in Preview and CHRO Summit), Transform, Salesforce’s #Dreamforce, Phenom’s #iamPhenom, BrightHire’s #Shine2026, and various other dinners and round tables, inclusive of our Deloitte #NextGenCHRO and #WorkforceInnovation events. My goal with all these events is to learn; challenge myself; and try to help others & be a connector. Thanks to everyone who has engaged in conversations throughout the year - now more than ever, we need to continue to share information to actively design a future we’re all excited about! And with that - off for an extended holiday weekend and quality family & friend time. Look forward to seeing many people again at various places this fall! #TogetherMakesProgress

Chelsea Manor liked thisChelsea Manor liked this20+ years ago I had the opportunity to visit Barcelona a number of times on business. Back then, I got a glimpse of a few major sites but never really dug deep. Laurie and I just spent a week in Barcelona and had the chance to dig in. What stood out the most again was the genius of Antoni Gaudí. His visionary and revolutionary architecture is truly in a category of one. And, in the case of Sagrada Família, realizing his vision is still a work in progress. As I reflect on the vast number of artisans and crafts people who have come together to achieve unified visions in these spectacular structures of art, I’m reminded of how we must bring people - and AI - together around clear and shared objectives. Create unity around a vision. And, work in close coordination to achieve greatness in advancing transformative change.

Chelsea Manor liked thisChelsea Manor liked thisI found a toad in my office this morning. Let me back up. My husband and I both have demanding careers, which we balance with raising our 9- and 5-year-old kiddos. That means every year, around January-ish, I plan my family’s entire summer schedule, including vacations, summer camps, babysitters, and duct tape. Every year, as part of the summer schedule dance, I take my kids to Western Michigan for two weeks to visit my parents. The kids get to enjoy time with my Mom and Dad. It is their favorite two weeks of summer, truly their happy place. And I get to buckle down and focus, knowing my kids are well cared for by people who love them. While my kids and parents play, I need a space to concentrate, and to avoid my little ones seeking me out like snack-and/or-screen-time-approval seeking missiles. So, we move the riding lawn mower to the backyard and set up a card table in its place, where I make my home-office for two weeks among the snowshoes, live animal traps, and bug spray. Which brings me to the toad. One was squatting right under my desk this morning, and with a nudge, was gently relocated to the backyard..(probably eager to tell his toad friends about designing work around AI…) Why share all of this? Two reasons: First, I talk a lot about Humans x Machines in my day job, especially creating space for productive slack and human connection. Letting my colleagues and clients see my garage setting and have a shared laugh about my lack of luxury creates human connection and makes my day more fun. Second, with leaders like Jessica Fischburg Tripicco I sponsor our Human Capital Parents & Caregivers community. And this is a reminder that it’s tough out there, folks. With kids out of school for a jaw-dropping 12 weeks, working parents are pulling out all the stops, fending off rogue amphibians, trying to keep summer safe, fun, and productive. So, give yourself and your teams some grace this summer, and make space for unexpected connections. You might even find one with a toad, under a card table, in your dad’s garage. #ScaleYourHumanEdge #MakingWorkBetterforHumans #TogetherMakesProgress #toads

Chelsea Manor reacted on thisChelsea Manor reacted on thisTwo years ago when I jumped into the deep end of HR conferences, events, etc., I didn't know what I was getting into. At the encouragement of Franz Gilbert and Jeanne Achille, one of the things that I did commit to doing was sharing the insights I was getting from engaging with leaders, researchers, analysts, and HR professionals. I truly believe that the more we share and engage within the HR/workforce ecosystem, the better equipped we'll all be to make decisions that design a future we want to live and work in. It's an honor to be identified as one of HR Executive's Top 100 HR Tech influencers for 2026. Check out the link in the comments for the full list - and congrats to everyone who was identified, inclusive of folks I had the chance to meet and/or connect with this year like Jason Averbook, Carina Cortez, Trent Cotton, Kris Dunn, Kathi Enderes, Stacia Garr, David Green 🇺🇦, Stacey Harris, Dani Johnson, George LaRocque, Madeline Laurano, Rebecca McKenna, Deb Muller, Richard Rosenow, Betsy Summers, JESS VON BANK, Sarah White, and Lydia Wu. #TogetherMakesProgress

Chelsea Manor reacted on thisChelsea Manor reacted on thisHalf my life. That’s right. I’ve spent half my life at Walmart - and oh what a ride it has been! I started in July 2001 as a brand new mom, coming “home” to Northwest Arkansas, nervous and unsure what Walmart would be like. I learned so much, buoyed by a culture that told me I could achieve anything I wanted - with hard work. When my boys were older, I traveled overseas to get a new HR system off the ground. In one two-month period, I visited 6 different countries! I learned to really listen - especially when the opinion is different from mine. Then I started leading a team, and I suddenly wasn’t the smartest one at the table. And that was okay! Everyone has something to contribute if they’re just given the opportunity to try. In these 25 years with Walmart, I’ve had many different careers - some I went looking for and some just found me. I wouldn’t trade a single day, and I’m so proud to wear a long-term associate badge for the greatest company in the world. Thank you to EVERYONE who helped me along the way!

Chelsea Manor liked thisChelsea Manor liked thisToday marks my last day at Deloitte after 11 years - and what a run it's been. Eleven years is a long time. Long enough to grow from an Analyst into a seasoned Manager, to work across some of the most complex HR transformation programs in the Energy, Resources & Industrials space, and to build relationships I'll carry with me for the rest of my career. Thank you to those who made this journey meaningful - and to those closest to me who helped motivate what comes next. I look forward to sharing more in early August.

Chelsea Manor liked thisChelsea Manor liked thisAt Deloitte's #WorkforceInnovationForum last month, we shared this video showing a "Day in the Life of 2030" during a final session discussing the Next Horizon for HR. I asked people "who wants this?" - hands shot up. I then asked "who thinks their teams have the capabilities to work in this type of model?" - no hands raised. As organizations seek to redesign work, workflows, and roles, helping people envision the future and how their day might evolve, and the skills/capabilities needed to navigate using different types of tools to drive business outcomes will be critically important to getting folks bought into the redesign & reskilling journey. Take a watch and let me know what you think - would you want to have your HR team experience this "day in a life" in the future? If yes - how are you investing in both the technology AND people capabilities to bring it to life? Huge kudos to Anna Copman, Shirley Hou, Christian Vanleer, Joel Thompson, Monica Marziani, Kristin O'Connor, and others for helping bring this video concept to life! #ScaleYourHumanEdge #MakingWorkBetterforHumans #TogetherMakesProgress
