Chad LaBree shared thisI cannot think of a better person to lead, represent and advocate for the West Region!! Andrea King-Smith, ENPChad LaBree shared thisI’m excited to share that I am a candidate for NENA Western Region Director! Over the past 18 years in the 9-1-1 profession, I’ve had the privilege of serving our industry in many roles, from call taker and dispatcher to an operations supervisor and now as a Director of Public Safety. Throughout that journey, my focus has always been the same: supporting the professionals behind the headset and helping strengthen the future of emergency communications. If elected, I look forward to continuing to advocate for our profession, expanding leadership opportunities for emerging professionals, and helping ensure our region has a strong voice in shaping the future of 9-1-1. Thank you to everyone who has already shared encouragement and support. I truly appreciate it! If you’re willing to share this post with colleagues in the Western Region, it means a great deal. 📅 Voting opens March 16 Also, don’t forget to join us for the NENA Meet the Candidates Forum today at 1:00 PM PST, where you’ll hear from all of the candidates. Chad LaBree shared thisWhat an amazing day! We worked so hard for so many years to get to this place!Chad LaBree shared thisIt's official: Carbyne is now part of Axon. But here's what hasn't changed — and won't: The mission. The people. The commitment. Every second between a call for help and help arriving still matters. Every call taker sitting at that console at 2 AM still matters. Every community that trusts us to keep their emergency communications running still matters. What changes is what we can do together. Carbyne's cloud-native emergency communications platform, combined with Axon's public safety ecosystem, means we can deliver more for the people who protect our communities — faster, and at a scale we couldn't reach alone. The same teams are building. The same commitment is driving us. Now, with the resources and reach to match the urgency of the mission. To our customers: thank you for trusting us. That trust is the foundation everything else is built on, and we don't take it lightly. Every second still counts. Starting with this one. #PublicSafety #NG911 #EmergencyCommunications #EveryPersonCounts

Chad LaBree reposted thisChad LaBree reposted this🚨 Congratulations to DeKalb County E911 for going live with Carbyne APEX! This is a major step forward in modernizing emergency communications for the community, and we’re honored to be part of the journey. Not only is this a huge milestone for DeKalb County, this also marks the largest Carbyne deployment in the U.S. Here’s how DeKalb County is transforming emergency response with APEX: 🗣️ Voice-to-Text & AI Translation Real-time transcription improves accuracy, while built-in translation supports callers across multiple languages — eliminating delays when every second matters. 📍 Precise Location Tracking Advanced location services help call takers pinpoint exactly where help is needed, even in complex or mobile environments. 📸 Secure Live Video & Image Sharing Callers can share live images or video, giving telecommunicators and first responders instant “eyes on the scene” for better situational awareness. 👏 Congratulations to the entire DeKalb County E911 team on this milestone modernization. We’re proud to support your mission — because #EveryPersonCounts. #PublicSafety #NG911 #EmergencyResponse #Carbyne #APEX #TechForGood

Chad LaBree reposted thisChad LaBree reposted thisFor decades, 911 has been a critical lifeline - but the system itself has remained largely unchanged. With legacy infrastructure, data silos and slow handoffs, the reality is clear: the next generation of emergency response demands more. We’re now entering an era where speed, connection and intelligence redefine the mission. With yesterday’s announcement that Carbyne has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Axon, we believe this transformation isn’t just coming, it’s happening. By merging our cloud-native infrastructure with Axon’s real-time operations and AI capabilities from Prepared, we’re moving beyond simply handling calls into creating a network that: - connects the caller, call-taker, dispatcher, field responder and command center in real time, - delivers insights while the emergency is unfolding, and - fuels continuous insights and improvement long after the initial response. What does that look like in practice? A call isn’t just picked up - it activates a connected workflow that pulls in location data, translates languages, transmits a live feed, routes drones or officers, and relays evidence to make every next step smarter. The result: faster decisions, better coordination, and safer outcomes for communities. To every ECC, call taker, dispatcher, agency and responder reading this: the future of 911 is being built now. We’re committed to that future - and to you. Read more about the new era for 911: https://lnkd.in/gfCUjp2S #PublicSafety #NG911 #EmergencyResponse #Innovation #ConnectedSafety #EveryPersonCounts

Chad LaBree reacted on thisPersonal announcement, part 2! I've joined Seekr as CMO. If you've worked with me in the past, you know I care about the work and I'm careful about the brands I put my name on. You also know I've been deep in AI - how it lands in GTM, how it influences and compels the buyer, and where it actually creates value for customers. Seekr is the marriage of all of it. The mission. The values. The market moment. Most of the AI conversation right now is about what models can do. But the conversation is shifting - for the enterprise CIO, the federal program manager, the intelligence analyst, the supply chain executive - to whether you can defend the decision the model just helped you make. To regulators. To boards. To the public. To yourself. That's the frontier Seekr was built for. Seekr deploys where the work is - cloud, on-prem, tactical edge, network edge, or that back corner of the warehouse where you can never get a good connection. The data stays where it belongs. And the explainability isn't a just a log of what an agent did after the fact. It's an architectural property that's traceable from the answer back through the reasoning, the data, and the model that produced it. Real technology. Real problem. A-list leadership in Pat Condo, Rob Clark, and Lloyd Cope. Serious backing from AMD Ventures and Danu Venture Group. Recognition in the CB Insights AI 100, with a Mosaic score in the top 1% of private AI companies. A customer base that already trusts Seekr with decisions that can't be wrong. A market moving fast toward exactly what the team has spent years building. I don't put my name on a brand lightly. Names matter - especially in industries where trust isn't just the product, it's the outcome. For me, the decision was easy. A wave of customer, partner, and product news is about to land. More to come. Check out "The Other Frontier" - my full take, on seekr.com: https://lnkd.in/e3GjydMF #AI #explainability #ExplainableAI #TrustedAIChad LaBree reacted on thisToday, we're welcoming Colby Proffitt to Seekr as Chief Marketing Officer. Named the 2024 Startup CMO of the Year and recognized as a top GTM leader in the DMV, Colby joins us with a track record of turning emerging technologies into market-defining categories. He'll lead Seekr's go-to-market expansion across enterprise, government, and international markets, partnering with CRO Lloyd Cope to scale the company into its next phase of growth. The AI conversation is shifting from speed to substance. The customer who needs AI most isn't asking whether the model can pass the bar exam— they're asking whether they can defend the decision it just helped them make. Seekr was built for that customer. We're scaling our leadership team to meet the moment. Welcome aboard, Colby. Glad to have you in the seat. ➡️ Hear from Colby about “The Other Frontier” and why he joined Seekr: https://bit.ly/4tr8lxi

Chad LaBree reacted on thisChad LaBree reacted on thisHad a great time with Carvana CEO Ernie Garcia in a fireside chat at the 2026 Arizona Leadership Summit. On the surface the contrast seems stark: he's revolutionizing how Americans buy cars entirely online, we're building AI, cameras, and public safety technology. Not an obvious pairing. But once we got into it — how you build culture, when to take big swings, what it actually feels like to run a public company long enough to see it through real adversity — the overlap was illuminating. The specific problems are different. The underlying challenges of building something that matters are surprisingly similar. Thanks to Ernie for a genuinely fun conversation and to Dan Mahoney and the Summit for putting us in the same room. Those unexpected pairings are usually the best ones.

Chad LaBree reacted on thisChad LaBree reacted on thisPersonal announcement! A little over a year ago, I joined Carbyne because the mission mattered in a way that was hard to walk away from. In emergency communications, the gap between good technology and poor implementation isn't measured in lost revenue. It's measured in lives. That changes how you think about your work. I started in March. We closed a Series D in July. In September, Axon signed a definitive agreement to acquire Prepared 911. Two months later, the same for Carbyne. For the last two months, I've led marketing integration across Axon, Carbyne, and Prepared — three companies, one mission. A new business unit, Axon 911, and a new category in Public Safety. A lot of good, honest work with people I'll be proud to have worked alongside for the rest of my career. What I believed coming in turned out to be true. The people in this industry aren't resistant to change. They just hadn't been given enough structural reasons to trust an alternative. That's the work. Not the product. Not the pitch. The trust. I talked about this in a piece I wrote in Forbes recently (https://lnkd.in/enhqaut5) - so many challenges that most people probably don’t realize are so prevalent in 911. The industry as a whole has made tremendous strides in the last year alone, and I have no doubt that the Axon 911 Team will continue to challenge the status quo. That said, I'm a builder. I do my best work on small teams with high stakes — where the distance between a decision and its outcome is short, and the proximity to the people you're building for is shorter. That's the pace and posture I'm headed back to, and I couldn’t be more excited - more on that later :) To Amir Elichai Alex Dizengof Chris Hill Michael Chime and the rest of the executive team — thank you for the opportunity, partnership, the hard conversations and the trust to have them. To my team - no uncharted destination was ever off the map for you. Greatness may be technically defined as an uncountable singular, but it's the plural of y'all collectively that drove us to accomplish everything we did together. Humbled to have led you, honored to have served you. More soon. #NextPlay #PublicSafety #EmergencyCommunications

Chad LaBree liked thisChad LaBree liked thisYesterday at Axon HQ, teams from Axon, Prepared, and Carbyne brought together 60+ PSAP leaders for a focused conversation on the future of emergency response. The discussion centered on how technology, coordination, and shared standards can strengthen outcomes across the entire response chain — from the moment a 911 call is placed to resolution in the field. What’s clear is that progress will depend not just on innovation, but on continued partnership with the agencies and professionals at the center of this work. We’re grateful to everyone who joined and contributed to the conversation!

Strong police leadership is about giving officers the tools they need to serve their communities safely, effectively, and with accountability. The move by departments across Massachusetts to modernize their systems reflects a real commitment to officer support, smarter policing, and stronger community relationships. When police are equipped with better technology, they can focus more on protecting people, solving problems, and building trust where it matters most. Respect to the departments leading this progress and putting their communities first. 👮♂️👮♀️
