After almost five years on Riot’s 2XKO team, it’s time to reflect and consider what’s next, alongside many talented people impacted by yesterday’s layoffs 💛
It’s been a long journey, and I’m leaving after helping ship a game on multiple platforms 🎮✨ while adding to my list of mentors and lifelong friends I had the privilege of working with. While I can only tag so many people here, please know this gratitude extends far beyond the names in this post.
I’d like to thank
Brian Morrisroe for seeing potential in me and putting me forward for a role higher than the one I originally applied for to help establish strong production best practices for the project. 🙏 I’m forever grateful to my allies at Riot who took the time to help expand my knowledge and grow my craft:
Mike Henry, Adriaan Noordzij,
Jeremy Ernst,
Rodney Tsing,
Kathryn Coulombe,
Anny Xue Luan,
Zoë Sams,
Adam Mark Stevens,
Irene Zhu,
Ted Angelilli,
Andru Phoenix, and
Phillip Saltzman.
I especially want to express gratitude to those who supported me before and after Riot:
Hector Llanos,
Derald Wise 🔜 GDC,
Dan Magaha, PMP, CSM,
Katrina Green,
Daniel Kahn, and
Peter Jervis. Thank you so much for all the support.
I’m taking a short pause for self-care before fully diving into what’s next. In the meantime, I’m always happy to connect, trade notes, or chat with teams working on meaningful, collaborative projects 🤝
Here’s what I consistently bring to teams:
🌍 Building highly collaborative, cross-functional teams of engineers and creatives aligned across multiple time zones to ship efficiently
🧭 Applying deep production craft and end-to-end product development knowledge to manage complex communication flows across distributed teams
🛠️ Leveraging my background as a technical artist and hands-on individual contributor to bridge discipline gaps and design content pipelines from concept through delivery
If you were part of this journey, thank you 💙 It meant more than you know.
