My brother Billy dreamed of becoming a pediatric oncologist - of dedicating his life to healing children fighting the same battles faced by so many of our wish kids. Though his time with us was far too short, that dream didn’t end with him. It lives on in every mile I ride and in every wish we help grant. I’ve seen firsthand what a wish does for a child with a critical illness. It isn’t just a moment of joy - it’s a lifeline. It brings light into the darkest rooms, strength when hope feels impossibly far away, and memories that a family will hold onto forever. It’s not magic. It’s healing. Cameron McGill liked thisCameron McGill liked thisBIG NEWS - AstraZeneca signs $2.1B deal with the Chinese Sino Biopharmaceutical for a late-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease therapy AstraZeneca is yet another pharma company signing a deal with a Chinese pharma - Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited. This comes just a week after AZ announced a $1.77B deal with CSPC Pharmaceutical Group for experimental kidney disease drugs. AZ is heavily investing in China. The company has announced a $15 billion investment commitment in the region through 2030. With this deal, AZ acquires ex-China rights to TQC3721, a PDE3/4 inhibitor currently in Phase 3 development in China. The drug is designed to improve lung function and reduce COPD symptoms. It could potentially compete with Merck's Ohtuvayre, which Merck acquired last year through its $10B acquisition of Verona Pharma. ---------- Hi! It's an evergreen goal but the convergence of science, technology, and data is compressing timelines in ways that weren't possible even a few years ago. I recently sat down with Jeff Amann from Salesforce to talk about how we're reimagining commercial engagement at AstraZeneca, and what it means to bring AI agents into that work at a global scale. A few highlights from our conversation: - We're moving from national market research and quarterly campaign updates to engagement tailored to a specific physician and their preferences. - Explainability is non-negotiable. We need to be able to see the data and reasoning behind every AI-powered recommendation — not just the output. - AI fluency is essential for all. 70k of our people are now trained and ready to use AI agents. The people who use AI successfully will have the most impact in the future.
