“Brian came to SMG two years ago after leaving the Army following a tour in Iraq. He's our boss' son, so we didn't know quite what to expect. The last time we saw him, he was in high school. However, I think I speak for everyone here when I say we couldn't be more pleased with his work, his attitude or his ability to win people over. Brian was hired to manage our print production and media vendors. It's a time-sensitive, detail-oriented job that required him to work closely with our account managers, accounting and vendors to ensure correct billing, on-time delivery, etc.--not exactly a recipe for fun, but he did it reliably. In addition those responsibilities, he brought his personal interest in video production to work and quickly mastered editing in Final Cut Pro and motion graphics using Motion from Apple. This added a tremendous amount of depth to our in-house video production capabilities. At the end of 2011 he was charged with editing together a series of videos for our largest client, a $3.2 billion holding company in Greenwich, CT. On a very short timeframe, he was able to pull together five videos that our client loved and that resulted in them awarding us additional work. But perhaps the best part of working with him is how he is as a person. He's an easy person to have around, always helpful, always thinking of ways to solve problems, a very positive, fun presence in the office. It's not easy being the boss's kid (ask his sister). But whatever concerns we had at the start, he immediately allayed them with his unassuming demeanor, work ethic and attitude. He has more than proven himself. We're all sorry to see him go.”
