Original post below: ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ Putting values on the wall... This means absolutely NOTHING If leaders IGNORE bad behaviour. Tolerating it—or even worse, rewarding the toxic few: - Kills morale - Frustrates high performers, and - Creates an environment where excellence feels pointless It's destructive. A business lives or dies by its moral foundation. Let the rot spread, and you’re choosing a slow decay. Remember: It's never the external challenges that break a business. It’s what leadership allows to fester inside. Do you agree? ____________ Pull up a chair, the best conversations happen here. The Leader’s Table

Brianne King shared thisThis is such an awesome project! 👏Brianne King shared thisStill pinching myself over this idea🤯 A recent project I made with the brilliant Olivia Zwayer just went viral with over 32M views on Instagram and 9M on TikTok. Big shoutout to Lauren Nicole Muir for posting about it here on LinkedIn and reminding us this project is unique enough and worth celebrating! When Olivia first approached me with the concept of website listings that interact with each other, I will be honest, I was a little confused. I've never heard of anything like this, but I was curious to take on the challenge. Listings are usually the most predictable video format and as a Head of Video I try to have my team move through them pretty quickly to create space for campaigns and other creative assets. I was open to trying something new. I sat with the idea, and soon a shooting plan and a direction for action on set started to come together. Olivia and I designed moments of interaction, and experimented with timing and pacing to make the concept feel alive and align just perfect. It took many hours on set, lots of trial and error, endeless takes with the melting ice-cream, and even more time in post. People were talking online how they thought it was AI which I found entertaining. In this day and age creativity is rare, and people would rather believe things were made with a prompt, which makes real content stand out. Seeing how many people have connected with the final result has been incredibly rewarding so I am really excited to share with you here! We have more projects coming soon, so stay tuned. I’ll also be sharing some BTS here soon for anyone curious about how it all came together. Let me know if you have any questions. Follow me for more creative solutions! Brianne King reposted thisBrianne King reposted thisI recently saw this visual and it’s been living rent-free in my mind: Two chickens, side by side. One: burnt to a crisp—cooked for 1 hour at 900 degrees. The other: tender, golden, and cooked to perfection—baked for 3 hours at 300 degrees. Same ingredients. Same end goal. Very different approach—and result. It’s a powerful reminder for leaders: pace matters. In leadership, there’s constant pressure to deliver fast. To optimize. To accelerate outcomes. But pushing for speed at the expense of process, people, or purpose can leave us with a “burnt chicken”—an exhausted team, poor decisions, and unsustainable results. Effective leadership isn’t about shortcuts. It’s about knowing when to slow down to go far. Creating space for development, reflection, trust, and strategy. Slowing the pace isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s wisdom. Let’s lead with patience and intention—so the work (and our people) don’t get burned in the process.

Brianne King reposted thisBrianne King reposted thisOn April 11, multiple outlets broke news that President Trump’s proposed Fiscal Year 2026 budget – which is expected to be released in the very near future – entirely defunds Head Start and Early Head Start, a move that would be catastrophic for the millions of Americans who rely on it. This proposed threat to such programs is beyond alarming. However, the President’s budget is solely a proposal – and only members of Congress have the power to determine funding levels for such programs, like Head Start. The Head Start program is a core pillar of America’s early childhood system, as it provides quality and safe early learning programs, health care services, family supports, home visiting and developmental screenings to 800,000 children and pregnant women across the country each year. Contact your Congressional leaders, and urge them to protect Head Start in Congress’ final federal budget: https://bit.ly/42sBi1X

We know that starting early has the biggest impact on a child’s development and that Head Start and Early Head Start are an essential part of our work to help all children thrive. In honor of Head Start Awareness Month, we’re re-sharing our conversation with Diana McClarien, vice president of the Early/Head Start Network on how Start Early’s relationship with Head Start began, the benefits of the program and our hopes for the future of Head Start and Early Head Start. Today, 1 in 6 children under age 5 live in poverty. If reinstated, the federal Child Tax Credit would alleviate some of the financial burdens parents experience and support health, wellness, and stability for families. Brianne King reacted on thisBrianne King reacted on thisHead Start isn't just good for children. It's essential infrastructure for our economy. New research from Child Care Trust shows that weakening Head Start could cost the U.S. tens of billions of dollars over the next decade — while making it harder for hundreds of thousands of families to work. The more people who see these numbers, the stronger the case for protecting Head Start. Help people understand what’s at stake – share this post. #TogetherForHeadStart

Brianne King reacted on thisBrianne King reacted on thisNearly 118 million people around the world have been displaced by conflict and crisis, with young children among the most vulnerable. That's why Sesame Workshop and The LEGO Foundation partnered with the International Rescue Committee and BRAC to launch Play to Learn, a humanitarian initiative that's reached over 34 million children, caregivers, and facilitators in 59 countries with researched-backed content and direct services to help them learn, grow, and thrive. Play is more than fun—it’s how children build lifelong skills, and it provides stress relief, normalcy, and joy for those affected by trauma. Now, through Play to Learn, it can support critical early childhood development opportunities when traditional services are disrupted. #WorldRefugeeDay Learn more: https://lnkd.in/e2fBwcbQ

Brianne King reacted on thisBrianne King reacted on thisYesterday a group of colleagues from Start Early attended the Chicago screening of No Country for Mothers. It was a timely reminder that the barriers families face aren't the result of individual choices. They're the result of systems we have the ability and responsibility to improve. Access to affordable, reliable child care is one of the strongest drivers of economic opportunity for women and families, and the public agrees. More than 8 in 10 Americans support action to make child care more affordable and accessible. I'm proud that Start Early and Moms First are working alongside so many partners, including CAKES body, to advance solutions that ensure every child, regardless of ZIP code, has access to the early learning experiences and family supports they need to thrive. Thank you to the Moms First team for convening such an important conversation, and to my colleague Molly Day for your leadership in bringing this event to life! Looking forward to continuing this work together. #ChildCare #EarlyChildhood #StartEarly #EconomicOpportunity

Brianne King reacted on thisBrianne King reacted on thisWow. What a day yesterday was! It was incredible to be in a room of more than 500 leaders from across business, philanthropy, education and advocacy for Start Early's Annual Luncheon. As a communicator, much of my work happens behind the scenes. Shaping stories, coordinating comms plans, managing logistics and more. We spend months planning for a few hours on stage. But, once the adrenaline wears off and there's a moment to breathe, I get to relish in the "WHY." This work is about something much bigger than the event itself. It's about helping people connect to our vision that every child deserves a strong start in life. Lasting change requires more than good policy or strong programs. It requires public will. It requires people who are willing to speak up, invest, advocate and build momentum around issues that matter. I feel fortunate to play a role in helping elevate the stories, research, leaders and families who are moving this work forward every day. The movement for early childhood is growing, and I'm excited to be part of it. #EarlyChildhoodEducation #StartEarlyLuncheon #Storytelling #StartEarly Sending much appreciation to Diana Rauner, Celena Sarillo, Aisha Gayle Turner, Esq., Johanna Vetter, Maggie Burton, Jane McCarthy, and especially Kimberly Ptak for your leadership and guidance in making yesterday such a success. Thank you to the incredible movement-builder SHANNON WATTS for being a part of our fireside chat! I can't wait to get our matching Start Early t-shirts. Meg Z., Owen Diny, Eva Stolson, Emme Olinger, Louis Jackson, Kayla Peattie, and Madison Conkin yesterday wouldn't have been as smooth without you!

Brianne King reacted on thisBrianne King reacted on thisThe weeks following a child's birth can be some of the most important — and most challenging — for families. That's why we're celebrating the passage of HB4606, legislation that moves Illinois closer to establishing a statewide Universal Newborn Support System. This framework will help connect families with voluntary postpartum home visiting services, health screenings and critical community resources during the earliest weeks of a child's life. Every family deserves support, information and connection when welcoming a new child. By investing in families from the very beginning, this legislation helps lay the foundation for healthier starts, stronger families and better outcomes for children across Illinois. Learn more about the passage of HB4606 and what it means for families in our home state of Illinois in a new blog from Start Early Policy Manager Kayla Goldfarb: https://lnkd.in/gPf-5J5a
