Bianca Millien shared thisI love getting to learn from my community and every time I get to chat my fellow Husky (shoutout to Northeastern University), PhD candidate, Dejah Blake I learn more about her work studying cell therapies (with a focus on Cancer research) at Emory University. While its light years away from the work I do, it helps to broaden my mindset and think about the different technologies and ways of thinking that will help our scientists and researchers find cures to the diseases of today and tomorrow! Check out her interview with MD Newsline!Bianca Millien shared thisThe future of CAR-T cell therapy may depend on retrospective data. In this conversation, Dejah Blake , PhD Candidate, explains why looking back at patient outcomes is essential for improving CAR-T cell therapy. As more patients receive CAR-T treatments, researchers can analyze long term responders, identify patterns in toxicity, and better predict how patients may respond. Differences seen between BCMA CAR-T cells and anti CD19 CAR-T cells offer important clues that can guide safer development strategies. Retrospective studies provide powerful insight into mechanisms, product differences, and patient specific factors. By learning from real world data, researchers can refine therapy design and move the field forward with more precision and confidence. #CAR_T #CellTherapy #ImmunoOncology #Biotechnology #ClinicalDevelopment #OncologyResearch #TranslationalScience #PrecisionHealth #RealWorldEvidence #LifeSciences

Bianca Millien shared this✨ A New Chapter Begins ✨ After an incredible journey of growth, learning, and self-discovery, I’m excited to share that I’ve stepped into a new role as Director of Product Management at Cox Automotive Inc. Leaving IBM after 9 amazing years wasn’t easy. I’m deeply grateful for the mentors, teammates, and experiences that shaped me—especially the opportunities to go through an acquisition (#Bluewolf), lead enterprise transformations, spend hundreds of hours as an IBM volunteer #techforgood, work on international projects, and solve complex, meaningful problems. Those challenges helped me grow into the person I am today and prepared me for what’s next. (Pictured below on my first week at Bluewolf w/ my fellow ABEs!) As Oprah Winfrey said, “We can’t become what we need to be by remaining what we are.” This transition is more than a job change—it’s a leap toward becoming the person I’ve been working hard to grow into. To everyone who’s been part of my journey so far—thank you. I’m beyond grateful and excited for what lies ahead. 💜 #CareerChange #NewBeginnings #wolfpack #GrowthMindset #BoldMoves #Gratitude

Bianca Millien reposted thisIt’s October 3rd - Today is the last day of my fundraiser, and I’m so close to reaching an important goal! As some of you may know, I was honored to be named one of Boston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 honorees. To celebrate this moment and elevate Black Owned Bos., I’m securing a Rose Gold Sponsor at the upcoming event, which would give my small business incredible visibility alongside Boston’s most influential leaders. I’ve been running a fundraiser to raise $7,750 to support the sponsorship and activation at the event, and today is the final day to contribute. If you believe in the work we’re doing and would like to support, even $10 makes a huge difference! Plus, everyone who donates $10 or more will be entered into a daily gift card raffle as a small token of my gratitude. You can contribute here: https://lnkd.in/erGCSJgp Thank you to everyone who has already contributed and cheered me on. Let’s make this final push together! #Fundraiser #40Under40 #BlackOwnedBusiness #Entrepreneurship #CommunitySupport

Bianca Millien reacted on thisBianca Millien reacted on thisExcited to be taking on my next mission as 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗔𝗜 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 at UnitedHealth Group Optum. It's an absolute privilege to drive UHG's mission to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone. I have spent my career building and scaling AI across the world's largest enterprises, and I strongly believe the ultimate test of a technology as consequential as AI is whether it meaningfully improves humanity's health and wellbeing. In this role, we are intentionally bringing together AI strategy, AI platform, and AI delivery under one joint mission. I'm energized to build with frontier AI and to accelerate the tremendous AI momentum already underway across the firm. Over just the last week, I've been truly impressed by the talent density here and by the scale of a fortune #3 at which AI is improving experiences, reducing administrative friction, and supporting better outcomes, with appropriate guardrails and human oversight. I have a lot to learn and help amplify. On a personal note, I'm looking forward to joining forces with my physician wife, Pragya Gupta, in contributing to healthier lives - hers on the front lines of care and mine on the technology that supports it. Some of you know I recently spent time as a caregiver. It gave me a far deeper appreciation for how hard the system can be to navigate, even for a well-informed family, and for why patient advocacy and reducing friction for patients and clinicians matter so much. This mission is personal. Thank you to Stephen J. Hemsley, Patrick Conway, Paul Weymouth, and Sandeep Dadlani for trusting me with this mission. Anand Selva and Jane Fraser, DBE, thank you for an extraordinary chapter at Citi. I'm proud of what our team delivered to institutionalize AI across the firm. I carry those lessons into this next one with gratitude. To my parents (Anuradha Varshney, Santosh Kumar), my wife and my kids - thank you for the blessings that make every chapter possible. Excited for what's ahead. Let's do the right AI, and do AI right - for the better health and wellbeing of the people and communities we serve. 🚀 #HealthyOptumism #Optumistic #ResponsibleAI #AI #Optum #UHG #WorldAIDay

Bianca Millien liked thisBianca Millien liked thisWhen IBM delivered bad news on Tuesday, CEO Arvind Krishna didn't look for someone else to blame. He owned it. Krishna, who is widely credited with turning IBM around since becoming CEO in 2020, said in a letter to investors that clients had redirected quarterly capital spending toward scarce infrastructure. Management underestimated the scale of that shift, contributing to the company's second-quarter shortfall. "These conditions require our teams to execute perfectly, and this quarter we faltered," Krishna wrote. "We did not adapt and move quickly enough, and numerous large deals failed to close on the timelines we expected." Though IBM's shares tanked in response, current and former tech executives told Business Insider that other leaders ought to emulate Krishna's candor. Owning a setback can strengthen a CEO's credibility longterm, they said. Bianca Millien liked thisBianca Millien liked thisI still can't quite believe I'm typing this. We're going to SEPHORA. North America. When we started Ruka, hair extensions weren't part of the mainstream beauty conversation. But this was always about more. I wanted to build a fibre technology company. When retailers told us we could only launch online, I said absolutely not. Our customers need to experience hair in person, with a premium experience. Many said no. Now, for the first time in 20 years, we're relaunching a whole new category in Sephora. We'll be the ONLY hair extensions brand in Sephora, bringing bio-engineered fibres everywhere from Harlem to Times Square. The first ever braiding hair in Sephora. This is the biggest moment in our history, because accessibility has always been fundamental to the story. We invested in the R&D to reach millions and now we can. But as we know, the hard work begins here. Retail isn't a saving grace. It's an opportunity to keep building bigger. To everyone who's lifted us up, even when we haven't deserved it [especially when we haven't deserved it]: thank you. Shout out everyone who's made it possible - that list is very, very long but there are some special mentions I'll be sharing in a few posts over the next couple of weeks. Please keep helping us build this. #Rukaphora [don't care if the hashtag is cringey I love it lol]

Bianca Millien reacted on thisBianca Millien reacted on thisLast week, I had the opportunity to experience opposite ends of the sporting world: I had the incredible opportunity this week to host clients at the Argentina / Egypt World Cup game alongside Ryan Watts, Madison Gooch, and Natalia De Greiff and join a client for England / Norway; and then I had my youngest son's first swim meet, ending in a DNF and and some assistance in the pool because he got too nervous. I had only previously been to one professional soccer game; but it was hard not to become a fan & fall in love with the sport following this game. The absolute passion on the field (of course) but also in the fan base. As someone who didn't have "a team" per se - I found myself grinning watching the celebration of the Egyptian fans, and subsequently the celebration of the Argentinian fans. After the England / Norway game, someone asked me who I was cheering for because I seemed to be cheering for everyone, which was true! Plus the opportunity to connect with incredible, fun, and thoughtful clients is always a reminder that even in the AI era, business runs on connection & personal relationships. A special moment to do it with Ryan Watts - we first worked together in 2012(?) in his first role at IBM - and have loved watching his career grow. My son's swim meet though reminded me of how we all need courage and a little resilience when we fall down (or jump in!) but also how we need a team of people around us to encourage us to keep trying. In my son's case, his big sister hopped in the pool to swim back to the edge with him, his coach was by his side encouraging him about how they would try a race again at practice. A little reminder that we all need to start somewhere - and we need a community around us to get to success.
