Dynamics 365 CE is a great tool to tamp down "popup apps". In every enterprise, employees will find a way to get their jobs done. We're quite clever like that. We'll cobble together solutions using whatever tools are available and don't require any sort of IT bureaucracy. It's great - a spreadsheet here.... a desktop database there.... maybe a Word mail-merge... things get done and IT is none the wiser and less burdened. The trouble occurs when these homemade solutions need some sort of support. I won't elaborate, but you can imagine. A few of the larger clients I've worked with use D365 CE to replace these popup apps. The benefit to the organization is that they end up with supportable solutions on a consistent platform with a well defined technology skillset. The benefit to the users is that solutions can be delivered and maintained quickly. There are lots of other benefits.... consistent backup and redundancy, data security and visibility.... platform features.... on and on really. CE is for Customer Engagement..... but if you've got a requirement that sits on a foundation of traditional table-centric data, a platform like D365 can solve a lot of problems.... very quickly. #Dynamics365CE #D365
