The argument is simple: if the trigger doesn't perfectly match your loss, you've solved nothing. It's a fair critique of parametric done badly — and a stale one when the model is actually accurate. Our CEO Siddhartha Jha was on InsurTechTalk this week to talk about how Arbol underwrites climate risk using satellite data, AI, and quant methods — and why the gap between parametric trigger and actual loss has narrowed to the point where the old objection no longer holds the way it once did. He also covered the vertical integration journey from MGA to admitted carrier, why parametric is increasingly a bridge to alternative capital, and one point that often gets lost in the climate headlines: weather risk is far more regionally varied than the macro narrative suggests, and coverage that doesn't account for that isn't actually coverage. Yesterday, I got to see that lesson play out in a very real way. After battling back from three major shoulder surgeries, my son never stopped believing in his goal. Through setbacks, rehab, uncertainty, and hard work, he stayed focused on what was possible. Yesterday, that perseverance paid off as he was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 13th round of the MLB Draft. I'm incredibly proud of the accomplishment, but even more proud of the resilience it took to get there. A reminder that success is rarely a straight line.

Cotality gave me my real start in SaaS, and I'm leaving with more than I came with: growth, perspective, lifelong relationships, and a leadership style forged by some genuinely talented people. I'm grateful for every bit of it. To everyone I had the privilege of working alongside, thank you. Your partnership, trust, and friendship have meant more than you know. Today, I'm excited to begin a new chapter with Guidewire Software as Senior Director, Global Head of Implementation Services. My role is to lead the global organization that helps customers navigate complex technology transformations, from new implementations and cloud migrations to upgrades and ongoing delivery. While Plaintiffs argued that the carrier was foreclosed from asserting prejudice in its investigation based on its ability to reach a coverage determination, the Court disagreed finding that a carrier “does not waive the defense of insureds’ failure to comply with their duty to immediately report the claim or protect the property from further damage, even when an insurer does not claim said failure as the basis for the denial of the claim.” Congratulations to our client for the outcome! #InsuranceDefense #FloridaLaw #SummaryJudgment #PropertyInsurance #InsuranceLitigation #FirstPartyProperty
