Magnetic Retention of Facial Prostheses Using Piercings
- Present
Currently working on a team to design a set of specialized piercings that will be used with magnetic pairings to attach facial prostheses in a less invasive manner than currently used methods. As a member of the Biomedical Student Advisory Committee (BSAC), I attend monthly meetings with the Biomedical Engineering faculty to discuss changes in the department. I also organize the budget and order materials for the project.

Designed a dynamic sling to support the upper extremity after a brachial plexus injury, in order to assist a patient in returning to an active lifestyle. As the Team Leader I provided weekly updates to our client and advisor and managed the project schedule.

Knee Traction Device

Designed and developed a Knee Traction Device to assist patients with pain due to knee osteoarthritis. As the team Communicator I maintained contact with our client and advisor throughout the semester as well as organized meetings with additional faculty. I also organized the team budget and ordered necessary materials. Patent pending.
