Nine years later, after intensive collaboration with brilliant colleagues from Eindhoven University of Technology, AMC - Academic Medical Center and Catharina Hospital Eindhoven, we present an AI system that detects early esophageal cancer with a higher accuracy than ALL 53 gastroenterologist in our study and a matching performance during a clinical pilot! But I also know why this opportunity happened. Alex has known the people at the firm for years through vState, and the relationships are real ones. They’re not transactional. The team knows their clients beyond the filings and annual reports. He still has to prove himself once he walks in the door. Nobody is handing him that part. But the reason the door opened at all came from years of Alex showing up for people consistently. Alex started this business with the same attitude he still has now. Business matters, but relationships matter more to him. When you spend enough years answering the phone, staying in touch, helping people when you don’t technically have to, and eventually those relationships become part of your family’s life too. As his wife and as his mom, I’ve met these people socially. That part just feels good. Allen Seidman liked this“America is hooked on Mahjong” - WSJ I started playing recently and thought it would just be fun. But every game you’re making decisions without the full picture. You can’t see everyone’s tiles. You don’t know what’s coming. You just stay patient and trust yourself. As a wife of an entrepreneur, that’s not a game — that’s just life. You don’t have all the answers. You play the tiles you have. And you keep playing. Because that’s how you win. Allen Seidman liked thisAllen Seidman liked thisI spent 10 years at Merrill Lynch, and I say that with full gratitude. The people I worked with were exceptional. They taught me discipline, respect, and what it really means to show up for people. I use that every day. I stepped away to raise my kids and support my husband as he built an entrepreneurial business from the ground up. That’s how I learned to show up, and I never let go of it. I’m here to share what I see from behind the scenes of building a business and life at the same time. The good days, the hard days, and everything in between. If that resonates, I’d love to connect. Allen Seidman liked thisAllen Seidman liked thisThis morning I made a fresh cup of coffee. Got distracted, came back an hour later. Stone cold. For a moment I considered pouring it out. But instead, I threw in some ice cubes and called it “intentional.” Now it was iced coffee. A failure disguised as innovation. That’s when it hit me: half of life is just learning to rebrand your mistakes as strategy. Cold coffee? No. Disruption. #MorningWisdom #CoffeePhilosophy

Allen Seidman liked thisAllen Seidman liked thisThirty-six years ago this 23 year-old kid started his first job after graduating with a BA in Telecommunications from Michigan State University. At the time, I wanted to go into radio broadcasting but after taking a Telecom 101 course I became interested in traffic engineering for phone networks. This kicked off a 36-year career in Telecommuncations which, today, comes to a close as I have officially retired. Blessed and fortunate are words not strong enough to summarize my career. I started working for communication service providers Allnet, Alltel, RCI/Frontier LD, Sprint PCS, US WEST LD and Nextel. Then I transitioned into the software side of the business taking a job 1999 with upstart Granite Systems where I was their first sales engineer. I found I was naturally good at the SE role because of the experience I had doing the same job as the people we were selling to. I learned that empathy is a very strong tool in sales, and I loved bonding with my customers showing them a product that would make their lives easier and improve their jobs. I am incredibly fortunate to end my career with ServiceNow. What a rocket ship this company is! The culture is unlike nothing I have experienced in career. The people I have worked with for the past 4 years are among the smartest, most insightful and nicest people I have met. I have learned so much here and will forever be grateful for the opportunity to be an outbound product manager helping build and launch a totally new telco industry product. This product has been a big deal to me for the past 4 years and I am proud to see it evolving and growing into markets outside of traditional telecom. Capping my career at ServiceNow is the best way to go out, without a doubt. And now it's time for other things. Mostly likely more golf, probably create some music, and certainly do some volunteer work to keep busy and fulfilled. To all the people with whom I've connected on this platform and at various jobs, thank you for being part of my professional journey. I wish you all the best!

As we push broadband projects forward, we often talk about speed and bandwidth first, but one of the biggest risks most operators overlook is the fragility of planning models in the face of change. Market assumptions shift. Costs shift. Permitting timelines stretch. And when that happens, the budget you engineered six months ago isn’t just challenged it becomes obsolete. This is the reality for anyone trying to build infrastructure in today’s environment. What worked on paper in January won’t necessarily work on the ground in June and that’s not a failure of planning. It’s a reminder that our tools and strategies need to be adaptable. We shouldn’t be designing networks around ideal conditions. We should be designing networks for uncertainty, variability, and real-world constraints. That means having deployment options that can pivot, scale, and deliver performance even when the original plan gets disrupted.
