Aristotle is built on the premise that an interface should explain itself quietly, without metaphors, in favor of context over icons, so that users spend their attention on output rather than on UI.
It doesn't have icons. Meaning is read, not decoded.

Icons require recall before action. Aristotle removes that layer.
Labels carry intent. Numbers carry position.

Ambient sounds let the user feel the system response. Sound enhances the experience the way texture enhances a surface: not by adding information, but by making the interaction feel present.
⚫ Shortcuts as primary affordance
Every action has a shortcut. Shortcuts are not accelerators layered on top of point-and-click. They are the interaction model.
⚫ Subtraction as development principle
Addition is the default momentum. Products rarely die from missing features. They die from accumulation.
Subtraction takes courage. Fewer things done right carry more weight than a hundred things scattered.

The biggest shift I have seen as a VP of Design isn't AI-generated wireframes or prototyping shortcuts. It is designers using AI to step directly into frontend coding. No more design QA. No more translating Figma into tickets. Designers polish the experience in the same medium the user actually sees and feels. This change transformed my team. Designers loved the autonomy. Engineers loved being free to work on complex backend code. Quality went up, and we shipped faster. The more I talk with design leaders, the clearer it is that this will not stay a niche skill. This is becoming part of how modern design teams work. I launched CraftAmplify to help designers build this skill properly. We focus on writing production-quality code rather than prototypes. The response has been incredible. Thank you to everyone who put in the work and started shipping real code. Watching designers push their first production PR has been the highlight of my year. Each cohort is capped at five designers to keep the experience hands-on. I checked this morning, and there is only one seat left for all of 2025, so I added new sessions for January and February 2026. 💛 Design systems aren’t just for designers. I use ours every single day. We’ve been lucky enough to work on some brilliant projects this year, but one of my quiet favourites has been our own brand design system. Flock’s brand is a living, breathing system that runs through everything we do. From creds decks and proposals to client assets and digital touchpoints. It’s built in Figma, set up so that anyone in the team can create confidently, without needing a designer to jump in and “make it look designed.” I can switch mode from dark to light, I can change theme, do I want coral, mint, cornflower or blue, one toggle and whole asset switches. And I love it. I can spin up a Flock proposal, tweak slides, or build content knowing everything already looks consistent, intentional, and on-brand. It gives me creative freedom, without the faff. It’s such a simple idea, but when your brand works as a system, everything you create just feels seamless. We talk a lot about digital design systems for clients, but it’s easy to forget how powerful it is when your own brand works this way too. #DesignSystems #FlockDigital #Figma #BrandDesign #DesignCraft
