Journalism is not perfect. Journalists make mistakes. The good journalists admit and correct these mistakes. Stories change, sources can lie and evidence can emerge suddenly, painting an entirely new narrative. To put a target on the backs of so called "media offenders" is actively encouraging distrust and creating a dangerous environment for journalists to work. This is not "holding journalists accountable," this is creating an environment of fear where they won't do their jobs just to stay safe.
