B. Riley Securities’ entertainment & media research analyst Drew Crum has published a Mid-Summer Box Office Outlook ahead of second-quarter earnings. Following a solid 2Q domestic box office, a comprehensive slate analysis points to a softer 3Q which reflects revised assumptions for recent releases (including "F1: The Movie” and “Jurassic World”), a tough Y/o/Y comp for August (the strongest since 2016), and a relatively light lineup for September. While we remain constructive on the sector and continue to see signs of long-term recovery, we are lowering our 2025-26 DBO projections to reflect a weaker June in theaters and movement across the Hollywood calendar.
