PICPA
The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue is restarting its personal income tax filing enforcement program, targeting taxpayers who may have missed filing obligations despite filing in other years. Notices will begin going out later this month, giving taxpayers 30 days to respond by submitting a PA-40 return, documentation, or an explanation. The department is emphasizing use of the myPATH portal for faster, more efficient responses. Failure to act may lead to a Substitute for Return, billing, and ultimately an assessment requiring formal appeal.
