💡 “Wait, are you saying I can deploy app containers to lightweight devices that can’t run Docker?” That was the most common reaction when talking about Atym's #WebAssembly-powered container solution with industrial companies at the SPS Atlanta Conference this week. This possibility opened up discussion on many different use cases such as: 🚀 Accelerating product development cycles with reusable, portable code 🔒 Improving device security posture through code isolation with granular permissions 💢 Enabling their end customers to write and deploy their own applications and AI models in choice of programming language for devices with as little as 256KB of memory 🏋️♂️ Achieving containerization on resource-constrained Linux systems when Docker is too heavy for the total available memory 🔄 Performing fractional updates on field devices without rebooting. 💰 Providing non-Linux based PLCs or HMIs as a lower cost option for customers while still being able to utilize containers.
