One lesson from my recent conversation with Tommy Brown stayed with me long after we finished recording. "Failure only becomes real when you stop learning." That simple idea changes how we should look at every setback. Every challenge teaches us something. Every disappointment gives us perspective. Every mistake offers a choice. We can let it define us. Or we can let it develop us. The people I've admired most throughout my life weren't the ones who avoided failure. They were the ones who kept learning because of it. Failure isn't the opposite of success. It's one of the experiences that helps create it. I've worked in the golf industry for 7 years, including 3.5 years at PXG (PARSONS XTREME GOLF) speaking to golfers every day, helping customers and accounts with their clubs, and spending years surrounded by the game. Yet I've never actually learned to play it myself. Last night was the first time I've gone along with the intention of properly learning. A friend and I joined a ladies-only taster session with The Caddy Club in Plymouth and had such a good evening. It was a relaxed and welcoming environment, and a great way to get started. A huge thank you to Sammie Hortin-Giles for all the tips, advice and encouragement. A few small changes and suddenly things started to click. If you're someone who's thought about giving golf a go but isn't sure where to start, I'd definitely recommend checking out what The Caddy Club are doing. Through their partnership with PXG, you don't even need clubs to start, with PXG sets available to hire so you can focus on enjoying your first experience with the game. And perhaps the biggest achievement of the evening... my own PXG clubs finally made it out of the garage. Although judging by the fact the plastic is still on the legs of my golf bag, that probably tells you everything you need to know about how much use they've had until now. On display at Kiewit's Omaha headquarters are two machines that help tell that story. The Holt 2-Ton Crawler Tractor first joined our fleet in 1921. Powered by a gasoline engine, it helped tackle smaller, confined jobsites. Today's 265 Compact Track Loader reflects just how far construction equipment has come, with an operating weight of more than 10,000 pounds and the versatility to support a wide range of projects. It's also equipped with a smart camera system that helps improve visibility, reduce blind spots and increase operator awareness, supporting safer operations on the jobsite.
