3 years back, we were celebrating our first video getting 100K views; today, we celebrate 1,00,000 people who showed their love and trust and decided to subscribe to XTE! 💛 🕰 The XTE Journey 📍 2016 A trip to Coorg of a few college friends started everything. After being overcharged and misled by taxi drivers, we realised how much smoother travel could be with the right information. That’s when Ismail decided to document the experience — to help like-minded travellers plan better. 🚗 2017–2018 Akshay Kotecha, Ismail Lakdawala & Saransh Agarwal kept taking weekend trips during college and their first jobs. More travel, more learning, more itineraries documented on the personal blog as a hobby. 💡 2019 3 of us decided to start a new chapter of XTE by cycling self-supported from Manali to Leh. It got featured in Lonely Planet Magazine India. We pooled our savings to build a platform where travellers could come together, share reliable information, and keep documenting our own journeys. Bought the xploretheearth.com domain, built a website and self-taught ourselves in how to write good content and generate revenue from content. 👥 2019–2020 Launched curated group travel experiences to build a real-world community and create a sustainable revenue stream. 🦠 2020–2022 COVID paused travel. We pivoted to videos — learning how to shoot, edit, and tell better stories. Freelancing and trading helped us keep travelling, creating, and paying the bills. 🏙 2022 Ismail and Saransh moved to Bengaluru. Akshay stepped away from XTE to pursue a new chapter. 🎥 2022–2024 long-form Destination Xplainers, reels & blogs. Invited to the Decathlon India podcast and collaborated with many brands like Tripoto & BlincTrip. 🚀 2025 Launched XTE T-shirts and purchasable guidebooks.
