About us
Worldly Wise is all about equipping and preparing our young people for their future ahead. Inspiring them, giving them confidence, knowledge, sometimes courage and all they need to feel ready for their next step. Travelling, starting their career and life skills such as finances and mental health awareness are all incorporated into our virtual and in-person courses. We work with individuals, schools, colleges, universities and clubs, drawing on the expertise from our bio bank – a team of hand-picked people with skills across many industries, from different countries, working at varying levels of their career, or second career, who have been through the highs and lows of life and can tell our young people that actually, it will be OK in the end. They say it’s not what you know, it’s who you know and our bank of experts allows you to access people you may not have had the opportunity to before. They’re here to answer questions, share their experiences, hindsight and advice for putting the best foot forward and being worldly wise as they make their way out there.

Schools do an incredible job of teaching knowledge. Businesses do an incredible job of showing how that knowledge is used. But too often, the two worlds operate separately. At Worldly Wise, we bring them together. When educators and employers collaborate, students get something far more powerful than theory: context. They start to understand not just what they’re learning, but why it matters. And that connection changes everything.

We have been following the Artemis II mission closely here at Worldly Wise. Not only it is the first mission to the moon in over 50 years, this is also the first time a woman, a black person or a non-American person have been selected for a lunar mission. 🌕 Yesterday, the crew broke the record for the furthest distance travelled by humans at 248,655 miles from Earth. The crews then said: "We most importantly use this moment to challenge this generation and the next to make sure this record is not long lived." This mission isn’t just about going further than ever before, it’s about opening the door wider for those who follow, highlighting the importance representation, ambition, and showing young people that space (and every other industry) is for them too. At Worldly Wise, we see that same mindset in every school session, every career talk, and every conversation. When young people are exposed to new possibilities, they start to believe that that could be them. Records are meant to be broken. Barriers are meant to be challenged. The next generation? They’re just getting started. 🚀

Career talks undoubtedly have endless benefits for young people. But the impact they can have on your business is often underrated. When your team steps into a classroom, they’re not just inspiring the next generation, they’re developing skills, building confidence, and reconnecting with the bigger picture of what they do. From sharper communication to a renewed sense of pride, the benefits don’t stop when the session ends. Know more ➡️ dream more It’s hard to dream of a career you’ve never seen. Many young people only know about the jobs they see around them, but the world of work is bigger than they realise. From ethical hackers to prosthetics technicians, marine biologists to drone operators, there are careers they’ve never even heard of. At Worldly Wise we open their eyes to these possibilities, helping students imagine what’s out there and discover what’s possible. 🌱 Because the more they know, the more they can dream. #Careers #WorldlyWise #Education

One year ago today, we were at Astor College in Dover and it’s still a session we talk about. Natalie from Commercial Play Ltd delivered a truly inspiring talk, giving students a real insight into careers in engineering and manufacturing. What stood out most wasn’t just her experience, but her honesty sharing the challenges she faced, how she grew in confidence, and how she carved her own path. The room was completely engaged. Students were curious, asking questions, and clearly connecting with her story in a meaningful way. These are the moments that remind us why career talks matter because the more they know, the more they can dream. #Throwback #CareersEducation #Inspiration #STEM #WorldlyWise
Last Wednesday, we were at Astor College in Dover and we are still getting over what a success it was 😁 Natalie at Commercial Play Ltd was absolutely inspiring and the students were mesmerised and engaging the entire session. Natalie spoke about her career in engineering and manufacturing and the challenges she faced in her career and how she grow into herself and grew in confidence. Watch this space to hear what the students had to say ✨ Thank you so much to Natalie, Commercial Play Ltd for such a brilliant session, Astor College and Victoria Chamberlain for being so welcoming as always and to Rachel Moon, Kent County Council for the ongoing support. 3 Things That Make a Great Career Talk 🦉📣 A great career talk can open a young person’s eyes to possibilities they may never have considered. At Worldly Wise, we’ve seen first-hand what makes these sessions truly impactful. Here are three things that make the biggest difference: 1️⃣ Honesty over perfection Talking about mistakes, unexpected turns, and challenges makes careers feel more achievable and human. 2️⃣ Making it relatable The best speakers translate their job into everyday language whilst still speaking to them like they are an equal. Explaining what you actually do day to day helps students picture themselves in that world. 3️⃣ Showing that there isn’t just one path Careers rarely follow a straight line. When speakers share different routes into their industry, it helps young people realise there are many ways to reach their goals. A young person may assume university is the only route to certain careers, speaking about different avenues makes the career feel achievable. Career talks aren’t just about information, they’re about sowing seeds of possibility that can grow as young people develop. What’s the best career talk you’ve ever heard? Or the best advice you’d give to someone speaking in a school? Many young people only know about the careers they see around them. Career conversations are just one of the tools Worldly Wise use to sow seeds of possibility that can be watered and nurtured as a young person develops. A single conversation can spark curiosity, build confidence, and open a young person’s mind to paths they hadn’t imagined before. Over time, those small seeds can grow into big ambitions. 🌱 Nick Inge Trevel Henry Kirstin Miller Laura Chapman Quinn Kaylin O'Rourke
