This Wednesday. 12-1 PM ET. The next WillowTree Ventures Insight Series is two days away. We're going deep on how AI-native tooling is reshaping legacy modernization in financial services, an area where institutions spend $700B+ a year just keeping the lights on. Joining us: CIOs and AI leaders running real modernization programs, plus a live Q&A with Glover Labs, the company building the agentic platform for understanding legacy software. If you're a practitioner or leader thinking about how to actually move off legacy systems, this is the conversation to be in. Register here: https://lnkd.in/eKrkKVnE

$700B/year. That's what financial institutions spend keeping legacy systems alive. For decades, modernization meant multi-year replatforming programs that stalled more often than they shipped. AI is changing that math. But general-purpose LLMs aren't enough. Modernizing millions of lines of undocumented code and the business logic trapped in people's heads requires purpose-built tooling. And it's finally here. April 8, 12-1 PM ET. Join us for the next WillowTree Ventures Insight Series where we go deep with CIOs, AI leaders, and Glover Labs, the company building the agentic platform for understanding legacy software. We are proud to be supporters of Ankur Goyal and Pritam Roy - relentless founders who have been executing nonstop. The bar is rising. Customers expect relevance, not segmentation. True marketing uplift is becoming tougher to realize. We believe true 1:1 marketing will define the next generation of customer acquisition and retention. Individualized experiences that adapt to every customer in real time is the goal, but achieving that level of scale is hard when there are so many moving parts. Fibr AI is solving the hardest part: turning personalization from a concept into a repeatable system teams can run every day.
Today, we’re announcing Fibr AI’s total raise of $7.5M, led by Accel (Accel in India), with participation from WillowTree Ventures, MVP Ventures, and an incredible group of operator angels. TechCrunch covered the announcement here: (thanks for the conversation Jagmeet Singh): https://lnkd.in/gVidmx6z Here’s what this unlocks and why we started the company in the first place: Every marketer I speak with is wrestling with the same quiet frustration. They've made their targeting intelligent. Their ads adapt. Their emails are personalized. But when someone finally clicks through to the website, the experience resets to the same static page for everyone. The journey that was smart everywhere else suddenly goes dumb at the most important moment. This isn't a new problem. For nearly 30 years, the web has operated on the same primitive contract: a URL serves a page, not an experience. Static. Identical. Blind to intent. But web traffic isn’t the same anymore. It's not just humans browsing through search. It’s coming from AI-powered ads, LLM-generated answers, and agents evaluating options before a human ever clicks. Every visitor arrives mid-story, shaped by channel, context, and intent. But the website still responds like it’s 2000. Marketing has become intelligent everywhere except the website. That mismatch breaks continuity, leaks revenue, and quietly drives up customer acquisition costs (CAC). Pritam Roy and I started Fibr AI to fix that last-mile gap. We’re building the Agentic Web Experience Platform, where every URL becomes an intelligent, adaptive experience that responds in real time, for humans and AI. Early enterprise deployments across enterprises banking, financial services, healthcare, and other industries are already showing ~20%+ conversion uplift within the first quarter. If you read my earlier post on where web experiences are heading, this is the “now we build it” moment. To our team, customers, and early believers: we are deeply grateful. And we’re just getting started. To everyone who’s supported us (taken my calls at midnight, listened to both my startup struggles and personal rants), this is a special thank you and shoutout from me: Prayank Swaroop Rohit Bodas Harshul Sanghi Venkat Chary Chitranjan Jain Alexander L. Enterprises are leaning into AI in a meaningful way, even though we’re still in the early innings. WillowTree Ventures hosted a dinner with leaders across fintech and AI, and a few themes consistently surfaced: - AI is still about efficiency. The most serious near-term initiatives focus on automation, workflow augmentation, and operational leverage across teams. - Tech orgs continue to control the AI agenda. Budgets and decision-making largely sit with product and engineering, who are driving both exploration and implementation. - Personalization at scale is becoming real. There was broad agreement that AI can finally enable true 1:1 experiences in products and services, not just improved segmentation. - The most interesting opportunities are in “boring” corners. Non-traditional and overlooked segments are wide open for AI. “Non-sexy is sexy” may define the next wave of category creators. - Crypto is still early in the enterprise. Despite broader excitement, real day-to-day adoption remains nascent and uneven. Thank you to everyone who joined us! If you’re building in AI for enterprise or financial services, especially in these “non-obvious” wedges, we’d love to connect and compare notes. Huge congrats to Tensec on this milestone and path to the next wave of growth! 🚀
We are thrilled to announce a $60M credit facility with Upper90 Capital Management — a huge thank you to Upper90 for their partnership and support! This funding will let us 10x our transaction capacity, growing from $500M to $5B, as demand surges from our current customers and prospective global trading companies seeking a competitive advantage. We are proud and excited to be building AI-native global financial tools for trading companies on a zero-integration platform. Through us and our banking partner, Stearns Bank N.A., Member FDIC, businesses can seamlessly offer FX, cross-border payments, treasury, and other financial tools — unlocking new revenue streams and expanding service offerings. The global cross-border payments market is booming — and we’re ready to help trading companies around the globe introduce new value-added services to their offerings, generate incremental revenue, and deliver better solutions to their clients. We can’t wait to keep growing together in this exciting market. A special thank you to our early investor, Costanoa Ventures, for their continued support across our business journey. 👉 Read about this announcement: https://lnkd.in/d77682Nm #Fintech #AI #CrossBorderPayments #GlobalTrade #StartupGrowth #Nearshoring #Sheltering #Logistics

The Groww story has all the right success factors: conviction, clarity, and execution on both the founder and venture side. As our GP Rohit Bodas reminds us, this is what makes venture special - backing exceptional founders, doubling down when conviction deepens, and staying aligned for the long-term. Congratulations to the entire Groww team on this achievement and to Rohit for the foresight to partner with them from the beginning. Rohit Bodas, Harshul Sanghi, and Venkat Chary continue to make conviction-led investments at WillowTree Ventures to back founders who are building to endure the next wave of innovation.
I’ve had the privilege of backing some incredible founders over the years — but seeing Lalit Keshre and the Groww team execute flawlessly over the past eight years has been truly special. I should thank the “mutual funds sahi hai” campaign for first getting me intrigued about the India wealth management opportunity in 2017. I probably met 20 startups before I met Lalit and team at a Wework in Indiranagar. Was immediately struck by their clarity of vision and the scale of their ambitions and was convinced that this is a special team. Getting the investment done was not as easy though. Sometimes well-meaning internal policies make non-consensus investments challenging. Making a small bet, in a far-away geo and a seemingly crowded space seemed a non-starter to most. But it is almost always such bets that deliver outsized returns. This journey has also been a reminder that taking advantage of asymmetric information and doubling down on the right companies makes the difference between a good and great investment. Watching Groww’s clinical product execution and steady progress in scaling mutual fund AUM had only strengthened my conviction about the team. When Covid was just hitting India, there was a lot of uncertainty on how it would impact Groww. I met Lalit just before catching one the last flights back to SF before lockdown, to reiterate my support and offered more capital. This essentially quadrupled our stake and it’s been a rocketship trajectory since then. From Series A to an IPO and decacorn status in under eight years, Groww has not only returned our entire fund and more and delivered massive DPI to our investors (which is what ultimately matters in VC). But more importantly, it has set a new benchmark for disciplined, customer-first execution in fintech. The real impact of Groww will unfold over the years ahead, as its execution DNA inspires the next generation of founders in India and beyond. Take a bow, Lalit Keshre Harsh Jain Ishan Bansal Neeraj Singh and the entire Groww team. You’ve built one of the most enduring companies in consumer fintech.
