We are grateful for yesterday’s inspiring online meeting with the representatives of the Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude (IPDJ). The discussion opened valuable perspectives for future collaboration around community-based youth empowerment, strength-based approaches, and gamified educational methodologies supporting young people and local development. We are particularly enthusiastic about the possibility of contributing to future youth training initiatives focused on strengthening communities in remote areas through participatory, experiential, and engagement-driven learning approaches. We are also looking forward to participating in the Institute’s 3-year Youth Facilitator Training Program´s closing event — more details coming soon. Bringing game-based learning into a European youth context. On April 29, WEOPLE will be in Braga, contributing to an event organised by Synergia within the framework of European Youth Week 2026, under the theme “Together for Change”. The initiative will bring together around 120 young people — from secondary, vocational, and higher education — in a participatory setting focused on inclusion, youth engagement, and the future of Europe, supported by the Eurodesk network. As part of the programme, we will facilitate two **Mavens of Mindset** workshops — a game-based, experiential learning approach where participants engage with real-life scenarios through role-play, decision-making, and structured reflection. Our focus is not only on engagement, but on **developing practical competences**: resilience, perspective-taking, self-awareness, and behavioural insight. This contribution is part of our broader commitment to community-based action, and connects directly to the EU co-funded *Mavens of Mindset* project, where we explore how game-based methodologies can support meaningful skills development in real-life contexts. What continues to stand out in this work is simple: when learning becomes experiential, people don’t just understand — they internalise. 🎭 What if young people could practice life… before living it? Mavens of Mindset is a game-based learning tool designed to develop essential competences such as resilience, self-awareness, and communication through roleplay and guided reflection.
