Today's visit to the The Postal Museum in London reminded me that whilst communication channels continue to evolve, the principles of trust, accuracy and reliability haven't changed for centuries. It's easy to think of direct mail as a traditional channel, but the museum highlights how postal services have continually adapted to meet changing customer expectations through innovation and technology. That evolution continues today. Working at Resource | integrated comms I'm lucky to see that first-hand. Bringing together design, data management and print production under one roof allows us to deliver secure, personalised and engaging communications at scale. Last year alone, we produced and mailed more than 5 million items on behalf of our clients. In an increasingly digital world, the most effective communication strategies aren't about choosing one channel over another, they're about using the right channel for the right audience at the right time.

We're bringing a bold new look to the streets of Gloucester with the arrival of the first vehicles in our redesigned fleet. We've introduced the new livery as we bring our cleaning service in-house, to create a consistent identity across our operational fleet. This will allow vehicles to be shared across repairs, estates, grounds maintenance and cleaning services and will help teams respond more flexibly where they are needed most. Customers and colleagues helped shape the final design, influencing the choice of colours and the overall look and feel. The livery is practical too, with graphics positioned away from vulnerable areas such as wheel arches and door handles, helping to reduce repair costs and minimise the time vehicles spend off the road following minor bumps or scrapes. Inside, improved racking and storage systems will help colleagues access equipment and stock more efficiently, supporting our service delivery. A big thank you to Resource | integrated comms for the creative design and to Qi Van Systems for the vehicle racking and livery installation. #gloucester #socialhousing #customerservice

The death of print has been greatly exaggerated. I read an article in Printweek (link in comments) about luxury holiday brand Sovereign Luxury Travel bringing back its printed brochure after demand from travel agents and customers. The reason was simple: people still wanted something tangible. What's interesting is that we're seeing the same trend across many of the sectors we work in at Resource | integrated comms For years, the conversation has been about moving everything to digital. Although I acknowledge digital remains a critical part of any communications strategy. But many organisations are now realising that more digital doesn't automatically mean more engagement. When inboxes are overflowing, social algorithms are unpredictable and click-through rates are under pressure, print offers something different: * It gets noticed * It stays in homes and offices longer * It reaches audiences who aren't engaging online * It creates a stronger sense of trust and credibility What's particularly interesting is that some of our clients aren't just maintaining their print communications, they're increasing them. We're seeing organisations use print more strategically, not as a replacement for digital but as part of a joined-up approach. A well-designed printed communication supported by email, SMS, web and social channels often delivers far better results than digital alone. This mirrors our experience helping clients improve engagement through a combination of print and digital communications. The lesson isn't that print is "coming back". It's that communications teams are becoming more pragmatic. The most effective channel isn't the newest one. It's the one your audience actually pays attention to. Sometimes that's digital. Sometimes it's print. And increasingly, it's both. You'll find lots of examples of print and multichannel campaigns on our website https://lnkd.in/eqGDVBY8

  • Who says a World Cup sweepstake has to be just about football? 🌍⚽ Over the past three weeks, colleagues were challenged to bring in a traditional food from their nation in the World Cup sweepstake for the rest of the team to sample. Multiple countries were represented, new delicacies discovered (some may not be tried again...), and some healthy competition as colleagues voted for their favourites... 🏆 Winner: Roger with Croatia 🇭🇷 🥈 Runner-up: Gail with Spain 🇪🇸 A huge thanks to everyone who got involved. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the different cultures represented on the world stage and bring colleagues together through food 🍽️
