One of my favorite parts of Vouch Insurance right now is seeing AI builders emerge from across the company, in every role. Chad Atherton is a great example. Chad was recognized nationally as a 2025 Power Broker for his expertise, and he's just as skilled as a builder. This week, he won his second "The Benjamin - AI Builder of The Week" award internally. He shared the Client Management Operating System he's created on top of our internal tools, instantly available for every client-facing person across the company. Some companies are trying to slap AI on the old way of doing things. We believe the brokerage of the future starts with elite talent ready to re-invent the work itself, and have a little fun with it along the way.

The last few weeks have felt like one long Christmas Eve. Now that it’s official, I’m excited to announce three huge additions to the Vouch Insurance leadership team: Steve Kenning joins as COO. Steve was one of DoorDash's first 200 employees and built its global customer operations from Series C through IPO, then helped lead strategy and ops at Airbnb. He's bringing that same operational rigor to our team and clients. Jim Loughlin is leading Client Management out of our New York office. Jim is a unicorn: nearly 30 years in commercial brokerage, a successful insurtech exit, and he built Aon's CyFi practice from a single broker to a team of 20+. Tyson Stevenson has been promoted to CRO, filling my prior seat with far more gravitas than I ever brought to it. Sales, Placements, and Client Management now sit under one proven leader to deliver a seamless client experience. We've got the people, the clients, and the capabilities to redefine insurance in the age of AI. It's the opportunity of a lifetime, and I feel incredibly fortunate to build alongside this growing leadership team, including recent additions Alexander Cohan, PhD, Daniel Moya, Jessica Carl, RPLU, CPLP, ExecPLP, cyRM, Kristan Hinckley (Leigon), Teresa Wang, and over a dozen other excellent teammates. Full announcement below. Back to building!

A few weeks back I was at Founders & Funders: VC Reverse Pitch for Tech Week NYC - sponsored by Vouch Insurance alongside Microsoft, Carta, HubSpot, GNOMI, Shopline, and Forecastr. Good room. Mix of seed/series A founders and active investors, which is always my favorite combination to be in a room with. Gave the sponsor spotlight on insurance for early-stage companies, then spent the rest of the morning talking shop. Good way to spend a Tech Week morning.

  • For a long time, Vouch was a carrier. Today, we're the brokerage of the future. That pivot let us put everything into what clients needed most: expert advisors, backed by AI, with access to the full market. Learn more behind the how and why from our co-founder and CEO Travis Hedge in #FounderUncovered 👇

"I was wrong about that." Travis Hedge raised $25M to build a full-stack insurance carrier. His team launched the first comprehensive crypto coverage in the U.S., insured AI companies before GPT was a household name, and grew Vouch Insurance to 6,000+ startup clients. Then he sold the carrier to Hiscox. "If you go back in time and you listen to me on podcasts a few years ago, I was like, pound on the table, the carrier's the right move." But the market caught up, and APIs matured. Carriers developed appetite for startup risks. Travis unlocked tens of millions in reserved capital, reached the precipice of profitability, and went all in on building an AI-enabled brokerage. Today, Vouch holds up to 45% market share among tier-one VC-backed startups. Sequoia Capital recently called insurance brokerage the #1 opportunity from an AI-native services perspective. Travis is already well down that path. Sean Lindy shares Travis's full story on #FounderUncovered: https://lnkd.in/gqPRe-9V Powered by Perkins Coie

  • First-time founders typically buy business insurance when an investor or enterprise customer asks for it.   Two out of three repeat founders buy it before their first hire. Getting coverage is quick. The problem is scrambling to get it with a term sheet or contract on the table. That’s when policy language goes unread and limits get approved without checking whether it’ll hold up at the next raise, the next hire, or the next lease. Repeat founders have seen a close slip, an enterprise contract stall, or an employment claim land without coverage in place. The policies are available. The question is whether they’re in place before someone asks. #Startup #Insurance #RiskManagement

  • Vouch Insurance CEO Travis Hedge joined Callan Harrington on The Insurance Growth Lab to talk about how Vouch is rethinking what a modern insurance broker looks like, and what that means for the clients we serve. Hear about: 🤖 What "AI-enabled broker" actually means (and why it's different from a digital broker) ⚡ How Vouch empowers our employees to transform their workflows 🧠 Building expertise into AI 🎙️ What's next for Vouch

Vouch Insurance is building an AI-enabled brokerage, and it's very interesting. In my conversation with Travis Hedge, Co-Founder and CEO at Vouch, he painted a picture every business owner will recognize. Their general counsel pulls her hair out every renewal season, filling out the same information across multiple PDFs again and again. That's the administrative nightmare that comes with the traditional way of operating. This is a known challenge in the industry, especially in the middle market. Vouch is going all in on using AI to remove those obstacles, freeing their people to focus on their most important goals: expertise and relationships. The future isn't about replacing human expertise with technology. It's about eliminating the friction that keeps experts from doing their best work. When you remove the endless data gathering and PDF shuffling, brokers can spend their time on analysis, strategy, and the relationships that make complex deals possible. If you want to hear how and where they are specifically implementing AI, check out the full episode! https://lnkd.in/gxDPGYZu
