Another meaningful WBENC moment: reconnecting with Lance Dorsey Jr., MBA from Sony Pictures Entertainment. I had the chance to reconnect with Lance, a relationship that started years ago and has continued to grow in such a meaningful way. Last year, Lance was instrumental in helping VMG Studios get set up as a supplier, and now he continues to be incredibly supportive as we explore where our creative work may align with Sony Pictures. What I appreciate most is his willingness to make thoughtful introductions, offer guidance, and help us find the right pathways for growth. These are the kinds of relationships that make this community so valuable. It’s not just about one conversation. "AI just makes everything sound the same." I hear this a lot. And yeah, if you've seen AI-generated copy that sounds just like everyone else's, I get it. But generic isn't baked into AI. It mostly shows up when the system hasn't been taught your voice yet. When I brought AI into VMG, the question wasn't "Can it write?" It was "Can it sound like us?" Turns out, yes….but only if you teach it what "us" actually means. That meant feeding it real examples of our voice, a do/don't list, quality checks at key points, and always naming the audience and goal upfront. Now we get consistent, on-brand drafts without the grind. Your brand voice is just patterns. Write them down, teach them to AI, and you can finally scale (without sounding like a robot).
