Today, Vaxart announced topline 12-month safety data from the approximately 400 participant Sentinel Cohort of its Phase 2b clinical trial evaluating the Company’s oral pill COVID-19 vaccine candidate against an approved mRNA vaccine comparator. The Sentinel Cohort is the first part of the broader Phase 2b study, which includes approximately 5,000 participants in the main cohort. Data from the complete study are anticipated in 2027. At the Taiwan Biotech Forum, our Chief Scientific Officer Sean Tucker joined a panel discussion focused on innovative therapeutic modalities in precision medicine, sharing insights on the future of next-generation healthcare solutions. Later at the BIO International Convention, Dr. Tucker and our CEO Steve Lo presented on the innovation, ongoing clinical development, and consumer-friendly approach of Vaxart’s oral vaccine tablet platform. Vaxart’s oral pill vaccine candidates, which are currently in the development stage, are designed to target mucosal immunity and could potentially eliminate reliance on traditional needle injections and cold chain logistics—offering a modern approach to improving global health equity and pandemic preparedness.
