📢 The PHRC Wants to Hear From You! The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC) is inviting public comments on proposed guidance explaining when the PHRC may consider it to be a reasonable accommodation for entities to provide Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) free or discounted admission, ensuring that individuals with disabilities have equal opportunity to participate in public life. 💬 “Our goal is to provide clarity so individuals with disabilities can fully participate in public life—and to ensure the guidance reflects the lived experiences of those directly impacted,” said PHRC Executive Director Chad Dion Lassiter, MSW. 🗓️ Public comments will be accepted through November 25, 2025, through an online survey. ☆Please read. Your help is needed.☆ The United States Department of Labor is proposing that workers who provide daily care for disabled and older people not be entitled to minimum wage or overtime. This would make it nearly impossible to find anyone to provide daily support. Nobody wants to take a job that pays below minimum wage and/or doesn't pay overtime. Please go and comment on this proposal. The government is required to pay attention to public comments when they make their decision about these proposals. The deadline to comment is just a few days away - September 2nd. I have included a link that my organization has created to make commenting very easy.
